ie - if a Mayor decides to run a power line over your house, or permit a freeway to be built right next to your beautiful backyard ad the view you once had, that really makes a difference to the quality of your life. And this may have nothing to do with the governor you have or the president in the White House - who - had nothing to do with those decisions at all because they were made at City Hall.

Or if the roads arent cleaned after a snowstorm because the city didn't allocate enough funds for street cleaning, that can actually mean life or death for many people.

Ironcially, nobody or relatively few people vote in those elections.
