Hey Herman  things been the same for me, the tshirt stuff should be slowing again but kind of happy that's the case since it's mostly just work and all going to rent and overhead anyways, lol.

Joe can never seem to make up his own mind, but I have to admit he still has some entertainment purposes along with this questionable lifestyle.

Well Z etsu, I looked on some websites for apartments in Vancouver lately and they're minimally $400,000  While I could afford it, I'd essentially use up all of my savings for a tiny box in the city. So I'd have no money left over for other things like investments, luxury goods, vacations, buying a new car, etc.

Meanwhile a semi finished parcel of land outside Vancouver can be had for less than $200,000 Plus I'd have money left over at the end of the day to spend on other things.

The problem with condo apartments is they still cost money once you 'buy' them. $700,800 - 1000 in monthly taxes and strata fees?

I don't know how an apartment could cost more than a piece of land.

At one time condos were considered an affordable form of real estate for people who couldn't afford to buy a single detached home. Now they cost almost as much as a house. sometimes more depending on location.

Or am I missing something? Can you fill me on on the advantages of buying a condo?

What's your take?

Land you buy it, then its yours, no monthly strata fees, annual taxes are less than a monthly strata fee.

Buy a city condo seems like an endless money pit.

Hey avatar_Herman Herm, some of those Vancouver apartments are worth more than yer farm.

Mind you, why anyone would pay $2-3 Million for a 2 BR apartment is beyond me.

A leasehold apartment more expensive than several acres of permanent title farmland?

Must be all the rejects who can't get into the US so they buy up all the real estate here instead.

In your case a piece of land piece of land might be a better choice than a condo.  The people I know, the young couples buy it mainly to get close to work, for elders it does offer a layer of security and the convenience without the need for property maintenance/repairs.

Frankly speaking Joe and no offense intended, but from my parent's friend's experience, they all say senior homes are the best choice for people with no kids to look after them.  There's a cook, nurses and caretakers standby 24/7, social groups and some events, etcs.  At your age investing on land is a huge gamble and so is other property now China's economy has hit the sh*tter.

There's no doubt about it with his non-stop constant whining about homos at eves' forum.  I always find it really weird that Joe is asking us for life advices, and I've already lost all hope on him, lol.

Those places yiu refer to are seniors homes. Residence only starts at $5000 per mo. Assisted living upwards of $10,000 or more?

There was an over 50 residence recommended to me in Abbotsford, a suburb 60 miles from dt Vancover Z etsu. No frills like cooks tho or prepared meals

Price tag? $350,000.

Abbosford is pretty far from Vanvouver as I frequently drove out there as a Limo driver

Besides being expensive a number of these suburban communities are not free from social problems found in dt vancouver. Homelessness, drug addicts, petty crime etc. used to be people moved out there to escape these problems but theyve followed residents into the suburbs as well

Yeah im starting to wonder if Chinas real estate crisis will affect us too since many are investors are from Asia

Somehow i dont think the locals can always rely upon the foreigners plunking down thrir money to invest here. One day the re gravy tran might dry up

I keep forgetting this is Van and I'm using Toronto prices as comparison.  On the good side now that mainland China's housing bubble market has collapse like Jenga, chances are property prices in Vancouver and Toronto will at least stop inflating and might decline by a bit for the next couple of years.

I have Joe on ignore, but I can see his posts when people quote him. You do know he is lying his ass off? Everything he posts about himself are lies to get attention.

What a pathetic way for a seventy year old man to spend his final days.

Now it all makes much more sense, before I thought it was odd he has gold investment, a limo driver job and other things I didn't bother to remember.

Seems like the only logical thing he ever said was he's still hoping to own a home, which he had endless chances before.  No sympathy for him, lol.

Senile Joe, why not just continue living in your government subsidized low rent apartment?

Spend your money on fun stuff like cruises and train/bus trips.

Go to Europe for a vacation.

If you want a travel companion to give you protection, I will go with you for the right price.

But no faggot stuff or I will beat the living shit out of you.
