Kopmala dropped out of the presidential race before she could be embarrassed by coming in ...wasn't it 5th?... in her home state of California. I'm not saying she *can't* become governor; just look at the stable of fuckwits they keep sending back to congress every election.

But it's entirely possible Kopmala's team is only throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks and she'd be laughed out of a gubernatorial run, too.
