America is too dependent on China for critical products. I agree that must end.

But, it is unrealistic to think the America is going to do that overnight. It took China decades to develop the capacity and supply chains to become the world's factory floor. It will take some time to bring it back to America.

I can tell you this via first hand knowledge, my company had plans to move some production out of the country and this has stopped it dead in its tracks. There's also the cucknadian furniture company thats moving production out of cucknadia and into North Carolina.

That's called a trickle. Most of America's manufactured goods will continue to be imported for years no matter what Trump does. He cannot magically bring home the manufacturing supply chain overnight.

It took years for America to lose it's industrial base. It will take years to get it back.

It absolutely does not take years. Maybe 6-18 months for most things. For the stuff we (company I work for) moved several years ago, it was MAYBE 6 months. Glad Trump has started. Really, he needs to cut china the fuck off, period.

Couple things I disagreed with Trump's approach tho Dove Dove.

Instead of trying to bring back low level manufacturing jobs, Trump/Musk should be concentrating on higher skilled technical jobs of the future. So instead of blowing off Europe, Canada, Australia,  Japan & like minded countries Trump should have tried to unite them against China. If that is who is really targeting.

The other thing too is I wouldn't dismantle the Department of Education but restructure it so it'd be more like 'Science Technology Medical & Skilled Trades Education'.

While I think there was a good case to revamp the department and fire useless bureaucrats the US needs a new focus on higher skilled jobs to maintain and raise its standard of living.

That's what Europe and Canada seem to be on the path for.

Anyways that's just my 50 cents. Just another POV eh.

Trump is representing a nationalist agenda. America first.

 So what he is doing makes perfect sense.

 I'm nervous too. My man is invested in the market pretty hard and has alot alot of money in it...and he isn't even sweating.

 He has talked my oldest daughter down a few times and made her feel better lol.

Oooh. I'm not so confident about the markets lately Dove Dove.

When the best performing assets are Gold/T-Bills/Cash, makes ya wonder.

I'd rather not put money inta the markets until things settle down & are more stable.

If the market goes down, then it's doing the work for the investor if he/she is on the sideines, rather than the investor chasing -negative returns. Jump in to invest when prices slide more.

But that's just my take.

Nobody should sweat the markets. They always go up.

Reshoring manufacturing is a goal that I will achieve come hell or high water.
