Quote from: JOE on May 16, 2025, 02:40:12 PMLike I said, I'll give you a chance to prove herself avatar_Mark Carney Mark Carney.

But just one chance.

My own take is that while the planet shouldn't rely upon fossil fuels forever, they're still a necessary step that's needed to introduce newer alternative energy sources.

In other words, to pay for the new energy infrastructure Canada still needs income from fossil fuels. Environmentalists are wrong thinking that we can ditch traditional energy right now & switch to alternative energy overnight.

I think itll take at least 25 years to transition to new energy sources. But probably 50. We can't just just shut off fossil fuels because our economy has been reliant upon them for at least 200. That's a lotta legacy to undo.

So fossil fuels will be with us for much longer whether we like it or not. Probably at least until all of us on this board have passed away.

Maybe we should concentrate on finding cleaner extraction & consumption methods.
Sugar Buns, I have explained to you after we have sex that he has already proven himself. Before and after the election.

He has made it clear that he will keep in place the laws that he advised Mr Trudeau on that kept new Canadian energy in the ground and closed to new markets.

If you were serious about finding new markets for your country's energy exports you should have voted for the only federal candidate who promised new pipelines and new markets and that is Mr Pollivere.

Do you understand now honeybuns or do you need to give me more oral sex first before you can think?

Did you expect Mark Cponman Carney to fail this bad this quickly? Even old Herman is kind of astonished.

Herman

Who do you think is the bigger liar?

It's funny watching Liberal elites regret their vote.

That out of touch progtard asshole Andrew Coyne says we have been had by Carney. Settle down you progtard know-it-all. There is no "we" hare. The working class like me was telling elitists like you that you would regret your vote because there is no evidence at all the Liberal Party has changed since Trudeau stepped down in favour of his advisor Carney.

I want pass on something I read today.

Carney Lied to Canadians. Repeatedly. And Now We're Paying the Price.
Mark Carney's rise to power was Canada's gravest political mistake. He promised strength. He promised retaliation. Instead, he secretly surrendered.
On April 11, Carney's government quietly slashed tariffs to "nearly zero" behind closed doors.
Yet what did he tell Canadians after that?
• April 17: "We'll fight back with counter tariffs."
• April 20: "We are fighting back with tariffs of our own that are causing maximum damage."
• April 27: "We're fighting them with our own tariffs."
All lies. Bold-faced, deliberate lies.
While he fed Canadians scripted lines of defiance, his policies neutered our economic defense and exposed Canadian industries to unchecked foreign manipulation.
This isn't just dishonesty. It is calculated betrayal.
Carney is not a fresh start. He is Trudeau 2.0, with a globalist mask and the same corrupted playbook. His Cabinet is a recycled mix of the same incompetent, virtue-signaling, far-left elitists that led Trudeau's failed regime. It is not a government. It is a Liberal con job in a new suit.
They didn't drain the swamp. They reinforced it.
Carney's Liberals will say anything to win votes, but behind the curtain, it's the same ideology that crushed our energy sector, drove away investment, and turned our once-proud economy into a playground for foreign interests.
He betrayed the West. He betrayed industry. He betrayed YOU.
This is not leadership.
This is not strength.
This is appeasement wrapped in deception.
Canada deserves better than a Prime Minister who lies to your face while kneeling to globalist pressure behind your back.
It's time to take our country back. From the elites. From the liars. From the frauds wearing red.

You didn't think you could get a Prime Minister who was even more shameless than Justine.
Now you know.

Are you Carney voters feeling stupid yet? You should

QuoteAs it turns out, Prime Minister Mark Carney's election strategy of publicly talking tough about taking on U.S. President Donald Trump in his tariff/trade war, while practising a far more conciliatory approach behind the scenes, was hiding in plain sight all the time.

Ian Bremmer, president of New York-based Eurasia Group, a political risk analysis firm with close ties to Carney, accurately predicted this strategy in a March 26 column titled, "The end of the transatlantic relationship as we know it."

Unlike Mexico, which took a more conciliatory approach, he wrote, "Canadian leaders have a political incentive to put up a bigger fight because Trump's threats toward Canada's economy and sovereignty have sharply inflamed nationalist sentiment north of the border in the run-up to the April 28 elections. However, I expect Ottawa will quietly fold shortly after the vote to ensure that ongoing relations with the U.S. remain functional."

This now appears to have been the Liberals' successful election strategy all along.

Carney initially said "dollar-for-dollar retaliatory tariffs by Canada" against the U.S. "should be a given" during the Liberal leadership race – "elbows up" as the popular saying went.

But after becoming prime minister, Carney said this was unrealistic given that the Canadian economy is "a tenth the size of the U.S."

According to a Bloomberg News report in the National Post last week, on May 7 – the day after Carney's cordial meeting with Trump in the White House and nine days after Carney won the election – "Canada ... effectively suspended almost all of its retaliatory tariffs on U.S. products," having "announced a six-month tariff exemption for products used in Canadian manufacturing, processing and food and beverage packaging, and for items related to health care, public safety and national security.

Tony Stillo, of Oxford Economics, told Bloomberg that based on his firm's calculations, Canada's tariff-rate increase on the U.S. is now "nearly zero," adding, "It's a very strategic approach from a new prime minister to really say, 'We're not going to have a retaliation.'"

That's very different from Carney's messaging during the campaign.

Was Bremmer able to predict the Liberals' strategy in advance because of the close ties between Carney and Eurasia Group?

Gerald Butts, former principal secretary to prime minister Justin Trudeau and an adviser to the Carney campaign, is vice-chairman of the Eurasia Group.

Evan Solomon, the newly-elected Liberal MP for Toronto Centre, is a longtime friend of Carney, who appointed him as Canada's first minister of artificial intelligence last week. Prior to that, Solomon was publisher of GZERO Media, a Eurasia Group subsidiary.

Carney's spouse, Diana Fox Carney, joined Eurasia Group in 2021 as a senior advisor on climate and energy policy.

Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner noted these connections in a March 27 substack column where she asked, "Why is a firm closely related with Mark Carney and the Liberals telling the world to expect that Canada will acquiesce to American demands after the election ... did Bremmer arrive at his conclusion Canada would 'have to accept Trump's terms eventually' and 'Ottawa would quietly fold shortly after the vote' from discussions with any of these people? Should it be taken as the Liberals' post election plan for tariffs should they form government ... it's a question worth asking."

"That's because ... it's not a stretch to imagine that after tricking the Canadian electorate into giving them a fourth term, the Liberals would, in fact, simply capitulate to Trump's demands," Rempel Garner said while noting, "Trump's recent comment that he'd prefer the Liberals to win because it would be better for him."

There's nothing surprising about the Liberals pursuing one strategy in public and a different one in private for political gain. And while the economic threat posed by Trump's tariffs hasn't gone away, he appears, for now, to be backing off the most severe sanctions aimed at Canada.

That said, Carney's "elbows up" rhetoric during the campaign appears to have been done mainly for show.

Not yet avatar_Brent Brent.

I'm gonna give avatar_Mark Carney Mark Carney one chance ta prove himself.

If he's a smart enough nut he should have at least some common sense to do what is best fer Canada. Haven't given up on him yet.

But Poilievre is still worthy of consideration when the next election is called as I imagine he'll still be around then. I actually like some of his ideas & the Liberals should adopt some of them.

I hope the Liberals get an Energy East pipeline of some sort to trade more with Europe. If Carney truly wants more trade with Europe he's gotta sell more oil & gas to the EU.

Sweetie I explained to you this morning after I fucked you that no new pipelines can be built because your Mr Carney is keeping C-69, the emissions cap and the Impact Assessment which shuts down any new markets for your country's energy.

And Mr Carney has already stolen most of Pollivere's ideas. The consumer carbon tax would still exist if not for Mr Pollivere.

The only way new pipelines are going to be built is if Alberta leaves Canada. Carney's main advisor Gerald Butts has made that clear.

Speaking of Liberal Party lies, inflation was at it's lowest level in a very long time in the month of April. There is one reason only for that - dropping the consumer carbon tax.

Remember for years the Trudeau government said their "price on pollution" was not inflationary? They lied.

But, don't worry, inflation will go up again and by design. When Mr Carney implements his industrial carbon tax and border adjustment mechanism which is essentially a carbon tariff on imports, Canadians will be forced to pay more for everything.
