Over the past few years of unhinged lawfare against President Trump, "no one is above the law" has become a favorite saying of the Democrats. However, now one of their own is on the legal chopping block — and they're crying injustice.

Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) has been officially charged for assaulting, impeding, and interfering with law enforcement after being accused of assaulting two federal agents at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility in New Jersey last month.

According to a new charging document, the ICE facility was stormed by McIver and two other New Jersey lawmakers before McIver allegedly assaulted a Homeland Security Investigations agent and an ICE agent.

The charging document also states that McIver "pushed an ICE officer and used her forearms to forcibly strike the agent."

Of course they are. But it isn't as if they weren't appraised ahead of this eventuality when they were gunning for Trump previously. Yeah, like they have a history of looking ahead... or listening to reason from those that do.

Fair enough if Trump had done anything overtly illegal, it would be reasonable to have locked him up. Not that it would have made a lot of difference since imprisoned US citizens by birth are legally entitled to run for the office of president. Indeed, it has already happened previously, though admittedly the efforts of those that tried were unsuccessful. But in Donald Trumps case the overtly political nature of the left's attacks against him were becoming obvious to an increasingly widening swathe of the population and might very well have afforded him a greater margin of victory as a result. Not something I imagine the average non-US citizen appreciates in countries with less media freedom than the US.

What is also generally not acknowledged on the world stage is the corruption invoked in the attempt to put him behind bars. The New York case is a perfect example; a misdemeanor that rightly ought to have been laid at the feet of his accountant was elevated to that of a felony to get around the statute of limitations? Yeah, the people responsible for that ought to be strung up and beaten with rubber hoses. And those that cheered it and who are now crying foul as people of less standing are falling to the same precedent that are set... ridiculed and laughed at ad infinitum. "You done fucked up there... suck on Bubba's big fat cheesy one you wanker" would be a good start. Especially since in all too many cases it is becoming clear that your own is provably much easier to hold up to the same yardstick and be found wanting.

Whether Trump was exceptionally careful not to get his hands dirty or ran the cleanest campaign ever is beside the point. These pricks got caught hurling rocks from their glass houses and now the shoe is well and truly on the other foot. Fuck 'em, they deserve it. "Nobody is above the law", not even them.
