Quote from: Oliver the Second on October 07, 2025, 05:09:21 PMSame here. Tom Sawyer's Island including the secret tunnel to Frontierland. Watching the bobsleds inside the Matterhorn from the skyway car. Climbing that giant tree next to where the big band was playing. Taking the People Mover over to Monsanto's Adventure Thru Inner Space and then hopping on the Monorail and going over to the hotel. The Autopia, the Submarine Ride, the Tea Cups and that little magic shop next to the carousel. The candy store and penny arcade on main street.

For a kid it was about as close to heaven as you could get. I'd love nothing more right now than to go back to Disneyland... the one from fifty years ago.

AMEN! to all of this!! I LOVED inner space! I wish they could have saved it when they built Space Mountain! I dont remember the magic shop tho. Surprised I dont because my Grandfather was a member of The Magic Castle and that was a big deal when I was a kid. The California Tea Cups are the bomb! Also, California has Mr Toad, Alice In Wonderland, and a few other dark rides Florida doesnt have. The Pirates ride in California is quite a bit longer than Florida plus there's 2 drops in California along with The Blue Bayou Restaurant. Sadly, they took out the Buy A Bride in Cali and Florida because of woke fuktards. As a little kid, the Autopia was fukin AWESOME!!! I liked the old submarines but once they did that nemo shit, I had no desire to go back.

In 2019, we stayed at the Disneyland Resort but its been rebuilt back farther from when we stayed there when I was a kid. The Monorail used to pull right up to a station at the hotel. Now its a short walk. I thought it was cool how we walked out of the hotel right to the Monorail Platform when I was a kid.

Quote from: Biggie Smiles on October 07, 2025, 02:38:38 PMparking alone is running at 30.00 for the day to park so far away you need two trams and a ferry just to reach the entrance.

Factor in food, drinks, the lightning pass and the admission and you're easily over 1000.00 for four people for a one day visit

and the rides ain't even all that.

And you're only a few hours away. Imagine what it's like for a typical family who needs to book round trip plane tickets, hotels, rental car.. plus the time off of work, you need about a week to make it all worth it.

I've always found the Universal Parks to be much better, but I was there in April and I found the coasters too rough and the rides with the special effects to be underwhelming.

Although on that particular day the lines were rather short and I got to do all the major rides before 3 pm.

Still thinking about hitting the other Universal Park when I go back in the spring, it's something to do in between scuba diving and visiting my old dad. Or I can come visit you and we can go to Busch Gardens.

Precisely!

I remember growing up in the North Toronto families of four would fly to Florida for a week and go to Disneyland. That is a privilege of the wealthy today. Our low CDN dollar doesn't help either.

Disneyland Resort increases prices on most theme park tickets, Magic Keys

Disneyland Resort is raising prices on most of its tickets and annual passes.

The Tier 0 ticket, the resort's lowest-priced single-day option, will remain at $104, a price point Disney has kept since 2018. The Tier 6 ticket, the resort's most expensive and valid on most holidays and during the week of Christmas, will increase from $206 to $224 per day, an 8.7% rise.

Magic Key annual passes are seeing steeper increases at the higher end. The top-tier Inspire Key will increase to $1,899, up $150 from its current price of $1,749. The Believe Key will increase from $1,374 to $1,474. Prices for the two lower-tier passes, the Enchant Key and the Imagine Key, will remain at $974 and $599, respectively.

Prices for multi-day tickets are also rising modestly, between 1% and 2%. A five-day, one-park-per-day ticket will increase from $511 to $520.

Parking rates will also increase, with all parking tiers rising by $5.

The cheapest option is $104 not including all the extras. That is a lot for the average family of four.

I dont think so at all. It's cheap for what COULD be a great time if you werent paying that money to wait in a line for eternity. You have access to a shit ton of rides for that money. The devaluing is cause by all the hassle from purposely overcrowding and stress from watching faggits crawl all over each other. Personally, I think $200 is worth it if you can walk on any ride within 15 minutes.

Renegade Quark

I recently read that attendance is way down at the Disney parks. It is another case of "go woke and go broke." I think Disney has gotten too big for its breeches.

Disneyland guest dies after riding Haunted Mansion

A woman in her 60s suffered a heart attack and died after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland on Monday evening.

Anaheim Fire & Rescue crews were called to the park around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 for reports of an unresponsive guest who had just finished riding the Haunted Mansion, Sgt. Matt Sutter confirmed to KTLA 5 News.

Disneyland security personnel began CPR before paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, Sutter said.

The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death. Officials have not released the woman's name, age, or city of residence.

Sutter confirmed that "there is no indication of any operating issue with the attraction, which reopened soon after."

Are you sure you didn't doze off to sleep??? I saw Trump in the line the last time I was there.  Now I haven't been back to Disney since his reelection but he was there before dipshit came in. I recently took the grandkids to EPCOT so much better IMO.
