 Thomas is a gnostic gospel. It isnt cannonized.

 Books that cannonized have been studied and found in confluence with the rest of the cannonized books that make up the bible.

 Scripture will interpret scripture.

 There are the gnostic books, and then the apocrypha. Enoch (the first Enoch only) and Jubilees are valued but not cannonized.

 The entire collection of books of the bible all tell the story of God coming in human form and rescuing His church. Ecclesia....His elect. The biblical Isreal, the body of Christ.

 There is A LOT that goes into cannonization. It isnt some flippant process at all. Nor is translation....which always ongoing BUT not drastic enough to change the meaning. Its being translated from an ancient Hebrew language that is so different from our modern English it takes some work to really learn.

 If you delve into secondary doctrine....which everything outside of the main, primary doctrine of Salvation in Christ.

 The gospels are seperate accounts of the same events. Which is how Hebrews retold events. Thats why Genisis 1 and 2 are the way they are. Its the same events told differently.

 Lets say 5 of us witnessed a car accident.  Each of us will have a different way of telling about the same event. Matthew and Luke are more detailed on the entire life and ministry of Christ. John is more focused on the divine nature of Christ. Mark is focused more on the works of Christ.

 The Revelation really gets people and they turn it into some end days event involving the US...when it was written by John after he had been boiled and cast to Patamos and given visions showing Gods plans of redemption and the new heaven and earth. Its called The Revelation of Jesus Christ, because thats what its telling about. When Jesus is revealed to the world.

 What i found studying is when a supposed contradiction is found, its typically bad exegesis.

 You really have to WANT to know. Scripture cuts the heart....its a spiritual text.
