Not really. The refineries along the Gulf Coast were built for foreign ultra heavy grades. Other infrastructure makes it more economical to import oil than produce domestically. At least in some parts of the country.

All that would change quickly if WTI went to $150 a barrel and stayed there for six months.

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the U.S. conflict in Iran will likely come to an end in the "next few weeks" amid uncertainty about oil prices linked to whether the strategic Strait of Hormuz could be kept open.

"I think that this conflict will certainly come to an end in the next few weeks," Wright told ABC News' "This Week" on March 15. "Could be sooner than that, but the conflict will come to the end in the next few weeks."

Wright, responding to a question about elevated gas prices in the United States, said that the war's end could lead to a "pushing down of prices after that."

Trump said Sunday that he could soon strike a deal with Cuba or take other action, following protests in the island nation's capital as its population faces rolling blackouts, fuel shortages and economic turmoil.

In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said that while it was understandable that conditions in Cuba are causing distress and that the "complaints" and "demands" of the people are "legitimate," turning to violence would "threaten citizen tranquillity and the security of our institutions."

Díaz-Canel confirmed Friday that the country was in talks with the U.S.

"These ‌talks have been aimed at finding solutions through dialogue to the bilateral differences we have between the two nations," Díaz-Canel said in a video aired on state television, adding that he hoped the negotiations would move the adversaries "away from confrontation."

He is encouraging overseas Cubans to come back and invest. Nobody will invest unless their investments are safe. The Cuban communist regime does not exactly inspire investor confidence.

This is from UNHCR so take it with a grain of salt.

In an updated report released on March 6, the scale was updated for the worst-case scenario as a full-scale war breaks out between Israel-USA and Iran. Humanitarian officials warned that if the conflict leads to the displacement of even 10% of the 90 million Iranian population, it would create a refugee movement of around 9 million people seeking resettlement.

Well, there's several reports that these loons fuck young boys but dont view it as homosexuality. No doubt they've found some way to justify it.

Quote from: Brent on March 09, 2026, 02:57:03 PMUniversity of Toronto professor and supply chain expert Andre Cire says skyrocketing oil prices will have an impact on food prices in Canada.

"Energy is in everything. You need to transport food from one place to the other, you need to put fuel in those ships. We're going to start seeing some increase in food prices as well, just because the transportation costs are going to go up," he said.

Sustained pressure on oil prices could mean Canadians will pay 10-15 per cent more at the grocery store by the end of this month, Cire added.

"This has an impact on freight costs," he said.

Oh I already thought about all this. I still remember 2008, when oil spiked, and inflation hit hard. Same in 2020, and we still haven't slowed down on inflation from that! Now THIS!? We are fucked.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.
