Leather sticks to my ass..

Once leather starts to go, it's gone quickly..

Our couch is only two years old and the leather is coming off.

I think they might need to be maintained.. Like leather boots..

I´ve always thought that leather furniture is for well disciplined people.

I used the oil that came with it, but it didn't last..

We had a leather couch before that lasted seven years.

OK Gaon, you asked for it, Can't do many for a while, but here's a start - Might do a thread in sub or something (in a while) if anyone wants to see more stuff

Here's my ultimate pride and joy - The Infamous "Whore's Leg" - and it comes with history and a great story

My previous mate's grandfather and I had a very special relationship - He disliked his grandson that I had divorced but considered me to be his special  grand daughter. He, Ozzie,  gave me this decanter set just before he died.

He flew biplanes and was moved to France at a point - bought it in Paris 100 years ago at the end of WW1 .....

in a .. . you guessed it right ..  Paris Bordello

How he got it home along with the six glasses all in top shape I'll never know, but he did

We had it re-leathered about 1992. I'm not sure how old it is, but it was made by the Chicago Carriage Manufacturing Co

Ozzie actually brought it home with a legit one from the bordello but it finally disintegrated, so I replaced it with mine

I'm pretty sure he's be good with that  ... That's not really me and my smile in the avatar  ac_biggrin

Never had any complaints, but  .. heh ..  I wasn't there to model for it 100 yrs ago

Mate did a mod so that the vertical tippy object could be secured to the base ... otherwise it likely would not be here today

30 yrs ago mate and I combined the best of what we both had - mostly mine because I has been in the antique business prior to that and took advantage of good stuff for cheap while I could

We have some true antiques, some might not yet qualify officially - but all strong and good quality today

I have never shown much of my personal side, but could take some pics and try to get them onsite if anyone interested in that sort of stuff

I was at a friends mothers home & she had a piece of furniture from c. 1600.

Elizabethan and it had the date inscribed on it in Roman numerals.

Real handcrafted furniture made without a machine.

I never saw wood furniture that old before or since.

It was an extraordinary sight like a work of art

Must have been made for some aristocrat I don't see how any ordinary English person from that time could afford something like that. Since just about everyone back then was dirt poor

Berry Sweet

I dont like leather couches.  They are cold in winter and sticky in the summer.  I dont like the feel of it in general.

I like older pieces too.  I'm been thinking to look in some vintage places lately.  Anyone know of anything good in lower mainland?
