new poll taken after Monday's federal leaders' debate suggests that rising support for the Bloc Québécois in Quebec could put the Conservatives in power.

The telephone survey of 1,013 Canadians by Forum Research Inc. has the Tories leading with 35 per cent of voter intentions, while the Liberals are trailing with 28 per cent.

It puts the NDP in third place with 13 per cent, virtually tied with the Green Party at 12 per cent, while the Bloc Québécois has seven per cent and the People's Party has three per cent.

The poll was conducted on Monday night and Tuesday.

The pollster said that could translate into a Conservative minority government, with 152 seats for the Tories, 117 for the Liberals, 36 for the Bloc Québécois, 29 for the NDP and four for the Greens.

While previous Forum polls since January had showed the Bloc winning between zero and 27 seats, this one suggests the Quebec sovereignist party could win 36 seats — almost half of Quebec's total of 78.

"In the immediate aftermath of the debate, support seems to be shifting away from the Liberals," said Lorne Bozinoff, president of Forum Research.

"Rising intention for the Bloc is hurting their seat prospects in Quebec, while the Conservatives are slightly above where we saw them a few weeks ago," he added.

Quebec Premier François Legault lashed out at Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau Tuesday for boasting in the debate that he was the only federal leader ready to say he might make use of the courts to fight Quebec's secularism law.

Legault slammed Trudeau for saying he might contest Bill 21 despite popular support for it in Quebec, calling Trudeau's comments "very regrettable."

Asked which leader won the debate, 23 per cent of respondents said it was Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer, 21 per cent said NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, 15 per cent said Trudeau, seven per cent said Bloc Leader Yves-François Blanchet and five per cent said Green Leader Elizabeth May.

Without quebec turdy is finished. now its time for the CPC to start flipping seats elsewhere and make it a majority

Sasquatch, I just read in the National Post, that while the BQ is rising in Quebec, the Liberals will still win more seats there.

The only pathway to victory for the Tories is a resurgent BQ or NDP.

yes, but they will cut the liberal block of seats down quite a bit. they don't need to win quebec, but just steal enough seats so the liberals don't coast back in easily. When that happens, they gotta get seats somewhere else, otherwise they will lose.

Trudeau Rumored To Be In Talks To Suppress Potentially Career-Ending Sex Scandal

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/trudeau-rumored-be-talks-suppress-potentially-career-ending-sex-scandal">https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/ ... ex-scandal">https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/trudeau-rumored-be-talks-suppress-potentially-career-ending-sex-scandal

Somehow, the Liberal Party has managed to minimize the blowback from Justin Trudeau's 'blackface' scandal, and with two weeks to go until election day, is still well within the margin of error in most polls.

But there might be another scandal in the works. According to a report in the Buffalo Chronicle, the party is doing everything in its power to suppress a sex scandal involving Trudeau and the daughter of a wealthy Canadian businessman who Trudeau reportedly may have become involved with when she was a student at West Point Grey Academy, a prestigious private school where Trudeau worked as a substitute teacher in his 20s.

The Chronicle's sources claim that political observers had been anticipating an expose in Saturday's Globe and Mail. However, it appears Trudeau and his people have gotten to the woman, and are in the process of negotiating an NDA. The woman is being represented by counsel, and is reportedly being offered monetary compensation.

Trudeau worked as a substitute teacher at the private school from 1999 until an abrupt departure in June 2001. It has long been rumored that Trudeau had improper relations with female students while working at the school, though nothing has ever been substantiated.

The prime minister was briefly embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal after being accused of "groping" a reporter back in 2000. Trudeau swiftly acknowledged that he was wrong and apologized for groping the reporter.

But a sex scandal involving a potentially underage student would likely end his political career.

Bricktop

I have to admit that Scheer is hardly inspiring.

Precisely. He's smarter and has a better grasp of issues than True Dope(not that that is saying much). But, he has the charisma of a sloth.

Very different poll results in this one.

OTTAWA — Two televised leaders' debates gave a boost to the NDP and Bloc Quebecois but did nothing to break the deadlock between the front-running Liberals and Conservatives, a new poll suggests.

The Leger poll, conducted for The Canadian Press after last week's French debate on Quebec's TVA network and this week's official English debate, put support for the Liberals and Conservatives at 31 per cent each, both down three points.

The NDP moved up to a solid third place with 18 per cent, up four points but still almost two points behind the party's share of the vote in the 2015 election.

Support for the Green party was unchanged at 11 per cent while Maxime Bernier's fledgling People's Party of Canada was up one point to three per cent.

In Quebec, the Bloc was up nine points to 29 per cent, mostly at the expense of the Conservatives who fell nine points to 16 per cent. The Liberals were still leading in the province but down three points to 31 per cent, while the NDP was at 13 per cent, the Greens at seven per cent and the People's party at three.
