Quote from: "kiebers"You can search all the major cities in the US as well as many in other countries and you will find Cinco de Mayo being celebrated. If there is even a hint of a reason to party, people will party. We will wait till tomorrow to "celebrate" since most places will be at their 25% capacity all night long tonight. In other words....our normal Mexican food and margarita date night.

That's what Herman was saying, and it's what I've noticed.

It's a Mexican holiday, that's celebrated by some Mexicans in the US...

It's not a holiday in Mexico.

It celebrates the Mexican victory at Puebla in Mexico against the French...

Maybe it's a Martian holiday?

I know the truth though, it actually is the day that Mexicans joined forces with the Confederates, to kick the asses of the Yankee scum, and won. Thus they celebrated with tacos and tequila. True story  :laugh:
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

I ate 6 tacos and drank whiskey, I feel as if I celebrated lol.

Lol of course. Sometimes I add avocado, and sometimes I make an avocado tomatillo salsa to go on fish tacos.

They look good but I prefer soft fajita shells.

I only like soft shells if they are fish tacos or pulled pork tacos. I like hard shell for beef tacos and shrimp tacos lol.

@realAzhyaAryola

I was raised by people who did not party much and did not get drunk so it is not surprising that I too do not party like the folks who party for Cinco de Mayo and get drunk. I will not be found in these kinds of crowds. Nothing wrong with partying and getting drunk for those who do enjoy these. I'm just saying I'm not found in these types of festivals and do not seek to be in them either. It seems too rowdy for my liking.

A lot of people in Canada are unaware of Cinco de Mayo.

@realAzhyaAryola

I ignored it completely. My family does not do anything special on Cinco de Mayo.

A few bars hold promotions, but it's not a big day for pub owners.
