Celebrities and Biden campaign staffers rallied to support the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a group that has been funneling money into bail payments for arrested protesters.



Over a dozen of former Vice President Joe Biden's 2020 campaign staffers announced their support for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, according to a report from Reuters.



They were joined by a number of celebrities, from Chrissy Teigen and Justin Timberlake to Steve Carell and Emily Ratajkowski.



Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates told Reuters that the former vice president viewed the cash bail system as a "modern-day debtor's prison" but made no comment with regard to whether or not the campaign had coordinated the donations to bail out rioters.

As riots take hold of major cities across the nation, Democrats have brought out the usual suspects in an effort to lay blame for the chaos and destruction.



But as the protests turned violent and rioters began to loot businesses and set them ablaze, Democrats began to blame outside sources for the ensuing damage.



Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey blamed outside instigators for the damage and violence, saying that they were tracing and investigating links to white supremacy, drug cartels and organized crime.



David Reaboi laid out the Democrats' alleged playbook even as it was still being implemented, saying, "I'm living for the moment between Democrat talking points, when riots are both (a) totally righteous and justified, and (b) the dastardly work of Trump, Russians, white nationalists, etc."

Researchers are raising red flags about a recent study on race and deadly encounters with police in the United States, highlighting the difficulties in measuring racial bias. The study claimed that white police were no more likely than their nonwhite colleagues to shoot minorities. But now, other researchers say the study was flawed and that it adds little to the debate over whether minorities have a greater chance of getting shot by police than white civilians.



In the original study, published on 22 July in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), researchers at Michigan State University and the University of Maryland compiled a list of more than 900 fatal U.S. police shootings in 2015 using crowdsourced databases from The Washington Post and The Guardian. Then, they asked police departments for information about the race of the officers responsible for the shootings. They found black police were more likely to kill black civilians than white civilians. However, the same held true for white and Hispanic officers:

Take a look at this graph. Cops in the US kill more whites than blacks. So, we know more whites than blacks die at the hands of police and black cops are more likely than white cops to use lethal force on blacks. I will bet few of the rioters know that.
