A guilty verdict is looking less likely as science and facts trump hysteria and half truths. As Odinson posted, there will be widespread protests when Derek Chauvin is either acquitted or convicted of simple assault.

Medical Examiner: George Floyd May Have Had a 'Fatal Level' of Fentanyl When He Died

The medical examiner's office in Hennepin County, Minnesota, said George Floyd may have had a "fatal level" of fentanyl in his system when he died on May 25 in police custody, triggering widespread protests, riots, and unrest.

Chief Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker said there is "no physical evidence suggesting that Mr. Floyd died of asphyxiation," according to court documents (pdf). It said that Floyd's level of fentanyl was "pretty high," and it added that he had a potentially "fatal level" of the drug in his system.

"[Dr. Andrew Baker] said that if Mr. Floyd had been found dead in his home (or anywhere else) and there were no other contributing factors he would conclude that it was an overdose death," a memo said.

Sadly, his death became  used merely as excuse for anarchists to hurt people and destroy property

If genuine protesters feel justice is not served and anything short of the most severe sentences will confirm that to them .. they will take off like a rocket - almost immediately to be taken over by the anarchists in even greater force

unless mayors step up which seems unlikely .. in fact, seems many mayors and councils think it's great fun

Virginia's Democrat-controlled Senate has approved legislation that lets judges and juries downgrade the charge of an assault on a police officer from a felony to a misdemeanor if the attack did not cause injury or if the perpetrator has "diminished physical or mental capacity or pervasive developmental disorder," drawing pushback from Republicans, who said the bill undermines the safety of law enforcement officials amid nationwide protests, some of which have turned violent.

Senate Bill 5032, which passed on Wednesday with a 21-15 vote strictly along partisan lines, also eliminates a six-month mandatory minimum sentence for assault causing bodily injury to police officers and other categories of officials performing public duties like firefighters and emergency medical personnel.

Republicans have said the bill makes police and responders more vulnerable at a time when they face attacks during protests.

State Sen. Amanda Chase, a Republican serving Virginia's 11th District, called the legislation "an attack on our law enforcement," while State Sen. Ryan T. McDougle (R-Hanover) said: "We're sending a message to people that riot in our streets . . . that if you encounter a law enforcement officer you don't need to be concerned because if you assault them it's not as serious."

Rand Paul, R-Ky., believes he would have been killed if not for the police when he and his wife were surrounded and attacked by a "mob" yelling threats and pushing police upon exiting the White House after President Trump's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) Thursday night.

Sen. Rand Paul: People Who Accosted Me in DC Were Trying to Kill Me

"It was horrific," the Republican senator -- who had part of his lung removed due to a complication from the 2017 assault by his neighbor -- told host Steve Doocy of the "unhinged" mob that continued to get bigger and bigger.

"They're attempting to push the police over to get to me, so at one point they push a policeman backwards, he stumbles and he's trying to catch his balance and I catch the back of his flak jacket to stabilize him to make sure he's OK because he's our defense," Paul explained. "If he's down, the mob's loose on us."

If not for the police, Paul said he could've been killed or recovering in the hospital, adding that people followed him into the hotel.

Look @ the sign - "Good Trouble" ... They really believe that hurting and killing people who oppose them is "good" ... that destruction of cities is "good"

"You've seen the pictures of what they do to you. If the police are not there, if you defund the police, if we become Portland, if America becomes Portland, what's going to happen is people are going to be pummeled and kicked in the head and left senseless on the curb," he said. "That would have happened to us, I promise you, had we not had the D.C. Police to support us, we are thankful we have police, and we've got to wake up. We can't have the whole country, we can't have Joe Biden rule the country and have no police. I mean, we can't walk down the street in D.C. safely now. That's how bad it is."

"They were shouting threats to us, to kill us, to hurt us, but also threats saying shout, shouting 'say her name,' Breonna Taylor, and it's like you couldn't reason with this mob, but I'm actually the author of the Breonna Taylor law to end no-knock raids, so the irony is lost on these idiots that they're trying to kill the person who's actually trying to get rid of no-knock raids," he said.

He slammed the Democratic presidential ticket for violence in Democrat-run cities.

"It's become so dangerous for us and I don't hear Joe Biden or Kamala Harris saying one thing about the violence. This mob is their voters. This is the new Democrat party, and if we don't resist this, the United States is going to become Portland. We're going to become Chicago. All of these failed cities Democrats have run, the president said in his speech," he said. "If we allow them to take over the White House, we are going to become Portland, the country will be on fire, we have to have law and order and we have to support the police. I can't say that strong enough."

So, after the horrible incident in Wisconsin, many professional athletes are refusing to play. Hearing about the refusal to play makes me wonder what would happen if all the 'front-line workers' decided to do the same. After all, I am sure many thousands of those people are just as upset by this. But guess what? They make way less in wages than those athletes do. And, during these trying times they are there for every person that needs them. Those workers, of all occupations, have bought your merchandise, paid hard-earned money to watch you play. Enough! What do you hope to accomplish? It's not as if your refusal to play is going to reverse what happened. But it is going to bum a lot of people out.

Rep Jim Banks Calls On Pelosi To Condemn Attacks On Rand Paul After She Called GOP Lawmakers 'Enemies Of The State"

Republican Indiana Rep. Jim Banks called on Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Friday to condemn attacks against guests to the Republican National Convention.

Banks spoke out Friday after protestors harassed Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and swarmed around Republican Florida Rep. Brian Mast in Washington, D.C. following the fourth night of the RNC where President Donald Trump spoke from the White House.

"Just got attacked by an angry mob of over 100, one block away from the White House," Paul tweeted around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. "Thank you to @DCPoliceDept for literally saving our lives from a crazed mob."

The incident came after Pelosi called GOP members of Congress "enemies of the state" Monday, Banks noted in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Businesses are shifting operations from downtown Portland or scuttling plans to open stores because of rioting that's kept going virtually every night since May 28.

Portions of the city are boarded up. Tens of millions of dollars of damage or lost business was caused by the unrest by early July. Rioters often gather around 9 p.m. and don't disperse until early the next morning.

While many workers have been working from home since March because of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic, a segment continued to work from Standard Insurance's downtown headquarters until recently, a spokesman told The Epoch Times.

"Many of those employees who had remained in our downtown offices have now been temporarily moved to our Hillsboro campus to ensure their welfare in light of continuing safety concerns and property damage downtown," the spokesman said in an email. "Several employees and security contractors have been assaulted near our downtown offices in recent weeks and months, and that contributed to the decision."

Other business owners planned to open stores in Portland despite the pandemic. The riots convinced them to put those plans on hold or terminate them.

"We were actually going to open two stores in Portland, and then all this happened," Joe Raetzer, co-owner of Steepologie Teas, told The Epoch Times.

Asked whether "all this" meant the pandemic or the unrest, he added: "Just purely the unrest. The riots."
