Just by chance, since I was happening to pay attention to the side of the road at the right moment.  The area is remote, and not many people would recreate here.

I can find no reference to it, even utilizing my internet Kung Fu.  Pulling up a map published by the BC government in 1940 doesn't show anything either, although there are other mines listed in the area.

Of course I didn't bring my camera...     Will go back another day and snap a few pics.

You should buy this mine. You can haul the ore with your truck. You could smelt the ore in your backyard.

Lemon Creek is where we interned the Japanese. Maybe Mel should build an internment camp.  ac_smile  :rules:  :rules:

That's right!  Lots of Japs sent to various camps around the area here, but not many stayed...  They left when they were free again it seems, ensuring Whiteness once again!

When the West goes to war with China, I wonder if we'll round up the Chinks and intern them also?

Frood

Maybe it was an escape tunnel back to Japan, Mel.

You should follow it and get some fresh Sashimi and Unagi.

Grab me an order of Udon!

I walked to the end (I carry a flashlight for emergencies)...  Just the opening (well hidden), and then an unlocked steel door halfway through, and then the end!

Frood

Could be a good shelter, if it's got steel doors, no sign of degradation, and not on a map....

It could be an excellent shelter!  The door can only be locked/unlocked from the outside though, so that would obviously have to be changed...

Odinson

You could capture an asian girl and put her in there..

Build her a kitchen.

The cost would be ventilation/purification... testing for radon....

...but maybe a last resort destination....short term

It's not a long drift mine shaft...  Less than 100 feet long.  Ventilation may be an issue, and radon might be also...  Only a meter could verify air quality.

On the plus side, the creek is nearby.  That water can be consumed, most likely without even boiling it!
