I went 4x4ing in the outskirts of Greenwood about 20 years ago...it was fuckin fascinating...little lakes of different colors, old abandonded mines everywhere, log cabins that are rotted to the base along with old tins and bottles probably from early 1900s....its just a memory now...I wonder how much it has changed since then?



The sites were beautiful and amazing!  Bring supplies and pack properly for that area...bring a shot gun too.

Greenwood is the ultimate example of small town...  Having traveled through there recently, I doubt much has changed.  Their street signs are unique, in that they use the "Wild West" font on them...

The cost would be ventilation/purification... testing for radon....



...but maybe a last resort destination....short term

It's not a long drift mine shaft...  Less than 100 feet long.  Ventilation may be an issue, and radon might be also...  Only a meter could verify air quality.



On the plus side, the creek is nearby.  That water can be consumed, most likely without even boiling it!

Canada is a bit different though...  We have water, and lots of it, which gets replenished every winter by snow...  Any toxins of old would've been flushed down the river decades ago!

Only when you have to shovel snow, does this equate to pure mountain melt offs in the Spring/Summer.

I walked to the end (I carry a flashlight for emergencies)...  Just the opening (well hidden), and then an unlocked steel door halfway through, and then the end!

I'll bet there's more room in there than under the rock where you normally live.
