Black coffee.

I hate the mixed stuff.

Not too strong though because I like drinking from a thermos throughout the day.

The real strong stuff messes up your stomach.

I go to coffee shops to relax and chat. Their hot beverages are not the draw. The best coffee shops in my city are indies.

It looks like there are shops called Java The Hut across Canada. I don't think any are connected to the chain you are talking about.

A guy and his wife own the locations (at least 2 I know of, used to be 3) here but maybe they're franchisees?

I've met them but didn't think to ask for specifics about the business.

Useless fact:

The first time I saw the owner I thought I was about to get served coffee by Dennis Miller.

They could be twins.

The best coffee is what we make at home. If I order coffee it is to go. For the drive to go see my granddaughter. Co-op gas stations have fair coffee. I fill my travel mug at one of them.
