Bored of the stereotype

My daughter is so comfortable in her skin that it inspires me to be more comfortable in mine.

That's good, but not all of us are built that way. When I was a teen I had bad acne. This made me feel so self-conscious. We all know the comments; "pizza face", "connect the dots", "aids face", blah, blah, fucking blah. I tried every anti-acne product on the market and went to dermatologists, but the only real cure was getting older.

This was combined with being an immigrant kid with no siblings and awkward English. I really hated when people pulled their eyes back in front of me. I was not popular until my final year of high school when I started to grow a few curves.



The point I am making is that kids are cruel and if one is in any way different they WILL be ridiculed. I have long made my peace with my tormentors in school. When you are an adult and another adult makes comments about your appearance, nationality or the way someone talks we know that person is still stuck in grade 10 mode. They are truly pathetic.

I've got to admit, I'm tired of the fat jokes. They were amusing at first, but now they're just irritating.



A certain mentally disturbed person here seems to think that he can counterattack anything I say by calling me 400 pounds. Of course if he had any real brains, he'd be able to actually hold a debate without resorting to the same old boring grade school insult.



It's not like who I am is a secret. I was outted by another nutter ages ago.



So I'm going to post some pictures. Some of them can be found on my blog. Some are private. And there's even one without makeup!



First is my media picture. It's the one that's used more often than not at book signings. As you can see, the pic is a few years old from when my hair was longer.
