What kind of music do you like, Shen Li?

I'm willing to admit that most of Nirvana's fame was a result of the corporate marketing of the "grunge" scene, which tried to make being a loser fashionable. Also, when they play certain songs 20 times a day on the radio, we start to find them more tolerable.

I like Nirvana, and Pearl Jam.

Nobody gives a toss what you like you stupid cow.

I think diet soda provides a scapegoat for us to blame our issues on, much like the coveted cheat day many dieters indulge in.

It's something about the inherent ways of the Western world where we're taught to believe every thing is supposed to have an easy aspect to it.

Also, on an unrelated parallel, movies have to have happy endings, or they're not good.

Sometimes I forget how close you guys are to Seattle. Most radio stations make an extra effort to play bands from nearby. I thought there was also a law that dictated Canadian radio stations had to play a certain amount of Canadian music.

Do you listen to more local radio than online?

You are right, Canadian stations are required to play a certain amount of Canadian music..

I listen to local radio everyday on my daily commute for traffic and construction reports.

Mona

The U.K. has announced a "sugar tax" on drinks that contain over 5% sugar and there's a huge push to emulate this in Australia. *sigh* there goes my yummy coffees with syrup flavours.

If government does it, it must be for our own good.

How about teaching people personal responsibility and letting them take the consequences of their own choices in order to learn how to make better choices. That's what a good "guide" does for someone.

I agree Mona, I was joking about government taxing us for our own good.
