Charles Aznavour gave his all to French literature, and it was a good thing he lived to a great old age, because his gifts were good ones, they will last.

The world famous singer, who died a couple days ago at 94, wrote his own songs. They were about everything — everything he felt. You might say he was a romantic.

Tony Joe White, the country bluesman and hit songwriter behind such successes as "Polk Salad Annie" and "Rainy Night in Georgia," has died. He was 75.

White, originally from Louisiana, had a hit in 1969 with "Polk Salad Annie" and his songs were covered by Elvis Presley, Hank Williams Jr., Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Waylon Jennings and many more.

In his five decades as a singer-songwriter, White was best known for his swamp rock style mixing blues, country and rock 'n' roll, which earned him the nickname the Swamp Fox especially with his fans overseas.

With his deep growling voice, his song about the Southern greens wasn't an immediate hit, but months after its release it eventually became a pop hit.

Who will do his cameos now?

CGI?

@realAzhyaAryola

What a good life he must have had, inspiring comic book lovers' imaginations. May he rest in peace.

Yup.  He seems to have done OK for himself, considering his family was poor (him and brother shared a room, parents slept in living room).  An American success story.

He created Spider Man, the Hulk, Iron Man and the Fanastic Four among others.

I know how much you liked his music cc.

cc

My appreciation for him was all encompassing - Not just a great guitarist (acoustic or electric) , but extremely funny and personable

I have never attended and always avoided "stadium shows" ... far too impersonal for me.

Have been to only 3 more intimate small dinner theater situations, each performed by "special" people.

One was the privilege of attending of a 5 hour small dinner theater intimate performance of his - I entered knowing little of him.

Fine music + fun music +  constant belly laffs (some mid-song, some short lines and stories)    ... by the time he ended soaking wet with Malaguena at 2 AM .... audience so stunned that one could hear a pin drop for about a minute .. entire audience stunned with the talent and dramatic performance  ... I knew I had experienced the multiple arts of a very fine person

Here's a fun one that is telling of his comical and "knowing" mind, a master of setting one up for a surprise ending
