For the first time, a federal health panel has recommended against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19, despite reports that it's successfully been used to treat the illness.

Meanwhile, the panel said there are several drugs that "now have demonstrated clinical benefit for the treatment of COVID-19," further rendering ivermectin—which is a relatively inexpensive drug—unnecessary.

That's surprising..

But, there are other treatments available now.

I was under the impression that ivermectin was never on the table / a consideration by serious entities

I never went out of my way to follow it, but it's my impression that few if any 1st world countries approved it  ... and that it had  support from mainly conspiracists & other   3rd worlders

Just searched and only found only Peru, Paraguay, large regions of India, and Macedonia approved  it  .. mainly as they had little to no access to anything else including vitamins, antibiotics quercetin,  D, etc. ...  from the Straight Times (Singapore), a pretty reliable source of world news

Still waiting for Health Canada here. The claim is these tests are 100% manufactured in Canada. In reality, import records show they're from Aochuang Biotech in Shandong. They are sitting in an unmarked warehouse in BC that uses Chinese labour. The workers say they're mistreated.

Remember our "100% made-in-Canada" Artron rapid tests? How come they're sitting in an unmarked warehouse and look like they're coming from China? Someone has some explaining to do. A representative from the company assured me that "all components were manufactured in Canada." twitter.com/realandyleesho

U.S. regulators on Thursday strictly limited who can receive Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine due to the ongoing risk of rare but serious blood clots.

The Food and Drug Administration said the shot should only be given to adults who cannot receive a different vaccine or specifically request J&J's vaccine. U.S. authorities for months have recommended that Americans get Pfizer or Moderna shots instead of J&J's vaccine.

FDA's vaccine chief Dr. Peter Marks said the agency decided to restrict the vaccine after taking another look at the data on the risks of life-threatening blood clots and concluding that they are limited to J&J's vaccine.

"If there's an alternative that appears to be equally effective in preventing severe outcomes from COVID-19, we'd rather see people opting for that," Marks said. "But we've been careful to say that– compared to no vaccine– this is still a better option."

The problem occurs in the first two weeks after vaccination, he added: "So if you had the vaccine six months ago you can sleep soundly tonight knowing this isn't an issue."

The FDA authorized J&J's shot in February last year for adults 18 and up.

I thought they had been restricting who can receive J&J.

I thought all 'they' did was stop recommending it.  And shipping it overseas.

I've got lifelong asthma, rheumatoid arthritis since I was 21, bouts of eczema, and some underlying and undiagnosed neurological condition that people in 2003-2004 couldn't work out at the time so they eventually referred me to shrinks...

I haven't seen a real physician since...

I manage my symptoms since.

And I won't be going to a doctor to pursue a rare medical exemption for it.

Fuck Kim Jong Dan....fuck the state run medical authorities.... fuck everyone.

I paid for a fake medical certificate. Lol

Are there consequences of you get caught?

Well technically, but I'm smart and wealthy! Lol

Don't think less of me xx Covid is rampant!

I hope you know what you're doing Bonkerfist.

Still haven't suffered any symptoms of Covid 19...but then I don't get the common cold either. I ducked into Victoria last month. Everyone has to be distanced at the airport and then we all sit cramped on the plane? Some strange rationale there. I should have payed extra for business class!

Some of the restrictions make no sense.

Absolutely...but they're doing their part in policing. It's a losing battle given that masks don't even work effectively. The virus is with us and we have to either adapt or die trying.

I think with the strain we have now, we'll survive.
