I'm beginning to see the effects of these highly transmissible variants



51 new variant cases today & a total of 580 UK, 14 Brazil & 33 SA here



These are already accounting for increasing daily new cases  and I'm not sure they really know which can or cannot affect vaccinated people



I feel these will become dominant everywhere .. just like a year ago when the original covid slowly grew everywhere in the world .. except these are much more transmissible so will accelerate faster than the original strain did and just as everyone is loosening rules



And then there is the likelihood of more variants with more transmissibility & able to get past vaccines more easily



In short, I'm not liking what I'm seeing following numbers decreasing until now when they are not .. and I'm only speaking of existing known variant



Right now we are dealing with new increases starting and a lot of unknowns

We have seen new cases for the last  16 days either start with a 5 (most) or very closely approach that .. and the 7 day rolling average has started with a 5 for the past 7 days .. and we have been the gold standard until recently

Variants are over ten per cent of Alberta's new cases everyday.

On the good side, after a disaster with phone booking in Vancouver area the first day , last 2 days have got over 37,000 for over 90s



It's gone so fast las 2 days that  they changed the next group from it's scheduled next Monday to tomorrow afternoon



& AZ is now in BC, so the parallel essential workers starts up & will result in regular population after that



All provinces best move fast as AZ expires April 2 .. seems higher  temperature ones are not as stable

Variants are increasing rapidly everywhere - exactly as they are programmed to do
