Another day not trending well with many new cases .. far more than expected .. all on the high side of last week

Ontario  1,708

Quebec  1,395

Alberta 1,608

We will find out tomorrow how we are doing here in BC

Most of Ontario is in lock down.

Ontario and Quebec report daily & early - Both continue new cases upward trend after rising last week

This creature just won't stop spreading no matter what people do

Lock downs don't appear to have much affect anymore. I look at Manitoba which has been in a hard lock down for nearly three weeks now and they had something like five hundred cases on Saturday.

The United States recorded 4 million cases of the coronavirus in November.

Here in Manitoba, we have at least one more week of our code red. It has produced the results the Pallister government thought it would.  And the reason is private parties. On Saturday a house across the street had roughly 25 guests for a party.

Michigan is more than two weeks into a hard lock down and they had over eight thousand new infections on Saturday.

Anonymous

There were 1733 new cases in Alberta today and eight deaths.

Forty per cent of new infections in Alberta can be traced to private social gatherings..

So, closing restaurants, stores and personal services alone won't be enough to slow the spread.

BC

Today 596

Sun 731

Sat 750

Down a bit from past 2 weeks  .. but 46 deaths over last 3 days .. that's really bad .. most would be from new cases a week or 2 ago

BC has fewer restrictions than Alberta I believe.

I'm not sure  ... likely so

Most cases (by far) in Surrey proper (as always)

Seems you guys in Alta are getting the same ethnic areas high spread rate even to the point of your premier getting complaints for even mentioning it

Example - last 3 days new cases - Frazer (where most all 1355 cases come from Surrey central vs. 371 from Vancouver Coastal) and total populations are similar

I mean your schools are open, we're down to twenty five per cent fire capacity in stores..

It's funny you mentioned about ethnic stats, because that was one of the questions Dr Hinshaw was asked today.

Yes - I saw where your premier got slammed for pointing out where most new cases are coming from

Here it is.

Kenney's statement added Alberta's South Asian and East Asian popoulation represent 11 per cent of the overall population, but accounts for just under 20 per cent of total COVID-19 cases.

"None of this is to cast blame — to the contrary," it read. "The premier has done interviews with cultural media outlets specifically to raise awareness amongst a disproportionately affected population on what they can do to help control the spread. Awareness is key in reducing spread."

Taiwan has not had a single case of the coronavirus in 232 days now.

That's amazing. A whole different world. We should listen up
