You called on your personal responsibility. An aware citizen knew that they couldn't depend on anything but themselves. Now that didn't stop "unaware" citizens from mucking up the works but it did force those who were "aware" to gain the necessary skills needed to handle an emergency situation.



That is one of the failings of today's youth who were practically born with a cell phone attached to their person. Most people under the age of 30 today can't even change a tire or start a lawn mower. If they can't find an APP for it, they're fucked. They are too busy posting narcissistic, stupid shit on social media, showing off how "woke" they are, to actually be worth more than the average cardboard cutout of a responsible citizen.

The federal government is very wasteful with out money.



Nearly half-billion in CERB cheques went to Canadians that weren't eligible



The Ministry of Social Development estimates that nearly a half-billion dollars in Canada Emergency Response Benefit cheques were wrongly claimed by ineligible Canadians.



And opposition MPs are questioning why CERB payments went to 221,320 people already on Employment Insurance, according to Blacklock's Reporter.



"There are situations where clients mistakenly applied for the benefit," said an inquiry of ministry tabled in the Commons.



The ministry estimated erroneous payments totalled $442.6 million and they've "already initiated efforts to recover Canada Emergency Response Benefit payments from applicants who were not eligible to receive them or no longer qualify for the payments for reasons such as having returned to work."



Under the CERB program, $2,000 cheques go to applicants who claim to be without income.



In the case of the false applications, the ministry acknowledged giving CERB payments to those receiving EI.



The feds originally budgeted the CERB payments at $24 billion, but they've now grown to $71.3 billion, the Finance Ministry said.
