I wonder if PETA will turn on Dr Fauci.

24 Lawmakers Ask Fauci About 'Cruel' Dog Experiments Under NIAID

A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers is demanding answers from top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci about reports that an institute under his leadership funded "cruel" drug toxicity experiments in dogs.

Fauci is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Documents show that NIAID spent $1.68 million in taxpayer funds for animal experimentation. The tests were conducted between October 2018 and February 2019 at SRI International, a research group headquartered in Menlo Park, California.

The experiment involved injecting and force-feeding 44 beagle puppies between six and eight months old with an experimental drug for several weeks, before killing and dissecting them. There also was experimentation on mice.

The documents (pdf) were obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request by the White Coat Waste Project, a nonprofit government watchdog. The watchdog said that this marks the fourth experiment on beagles funded by NIAID that it has been able to uncover.

Procedure Stops Dogs From Barking

The lawmakers also expressed horror at a procedure used in the experiment. They noted that an invoice to NIAID involved an item called a "cordectomy," also known as devocalization or de-barking. The procedure involves slitting a dog's vocal cords to remove its ability to bark, howl, or cry.

"This cruel procedure ... seems to have been performed so that experimenters would not have to listen to the pained cries of the beagle puppies," the 24 legislators said. "This is a reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds."

They asked Fauci, "Why has NIAID contracted for cordectomies when they appear to be scientifically and medically unnecessary? What is the average cost for each cordectomy performed?"

Lawmakers are also asking how many drug experiments involving dogs have been funded by NIAID since January 2018 and how much taxpayer funding has been used.

If Donald Trump was still president he would have appointed a special counsel to investigate the NIH.Eco-Health and Dr Fauci's role in gain-of-function research, lying to congress and violating the terms of his grant.

NIH Gain-of-Function Statement on EcoHealth, Wuhan Lab, Inadvertently Reveals Cover-Up

After nearly two years of denials, Dr. Anthony Fauci's parent organization, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has finally conceded that it had funded gain-of-function experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

As these admissions were made, NIH officials told Congress that the viruses being experimented on were too genetically distant to have possibly caused COVID-19.

But the NIH failed to tell Congress that Peter Daszak's EcoHealth Alliance, the organization through whom Fauci was funding the Wuhan Institute, has kept a large number of unknown viruses in its possession. And only those with access to these viruses know what was done with them or exactly how genetically close to COVID-19 they actually are. Additionally, the Institute deleted its entire database of over 22,000 previously unreported virus samples on Sept. 12, 2019.

At exactly the same time that the NIH was making the gain-of-function admission, the agency quietly edited its website to redefine what constituted gain-of-function experiments. In doing so, the NIH narrowed its definition to focus only on known and established human transmission, instead of any potential dangers to humans.

The belated gain-of-function disclosure was made by Lawrence Tabak, the deputy principal director of the NIH, who noted in a letter to Congress, that, despite its previous denials, the NIH had, in fact, funded gain-of-function experiments at the Wuhan facility.

Tabak's letter, written in response to congressional inquiries, corrected previous assertions by NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Fauci that the NIH hadn't funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan. Tabak also acknowledged that EcoHealth, the body through whom Fauci funded the Wuhan lab, had violated the terms and conditions of its NIH grant.

But Tabak's assertion that the NIH was unaware of gain-of-function work being conducted by EcoHealth was contested in a statement issued by EcoHealth in response, which noted that "[t]hese data were reported as soon as we were made aware, in our year four report in April 2018."

Fauci Staffers Flagged Potential Gain-Of-Function Research At Wuhan Lab In 2016, Records Reveal

https://dailycaller.com/2021/11/03/fauci-nih-ecohealth-peter-daszak-gain-of-function-wuhan-covid-19/">https://dailycaller.com/2021/11/03/fauc ... -covid-19/">https://dailycaller.com/2021/11/03/fauci-nih-ecohealth-peter-daszak-gain-of-function-wuhan-covid-19/

Two subordinates of Dr. Anthony Fauci raised concerns in May 2016 that taxpayer dollars may be funding gain-of-function experiments on bat coronaviruses at a Wuhan lab, but dropped the issue after nonprofit group EcoHealth Alliance downplayed the concerns, documents show.

The National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases staffers reversed course after requesting EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak submitted a "determination" to the agency that downplayed the risks of his proposed experiments, the records show.

"The NIH, incredibly, accepted EcoHealth's belief that this work would not be considered gain of function, and accepted EcoHealth's rationale for this belief," Rutgers University professor Richard Ebright told the DCNF.

Daszak also notified NIAID staffers in a June 27, 2016, email that he was reliant on Wuhan Institute of Virology researcher Shi Zhengli, who has known ties with the Chinese military, to notify him if their lab-created viruses exhibited enhanced replication.

The records were obtained by the White Coat Waste Project as the result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit and provided exclusively to the DCNF.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/rand-paul-anthony-fauci-senate-hearing-gain-of-function">Rand Paul accuses Fauci of changing 'gain-of-function' definition to 'cover your ass' in fiery clash

Sen. Rand Paul tells Fauci, 'Your repeated denials have worn thin'

"Dr. Fauci, I don't expect you today to admit that you approved of NIH funding for a gain of function research in Wuhan, but your repeated denials have worn thin," Paul told Fauci as a precursor to his questioning, stating that the National Institutes of Health admitted that it funded a grant to EcoHealth Alliance with a sub-award to the Wuhan lab. Paul said that as part of this work, it engaged in experiments in Wuhan that led to the creation of viruses that do not occur in nature and increased in deadliness.

"The facts are clear. The NIH did fund gain of function research in Wuhan despite your protestations," continued Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, claiming that Fauci's "persistent denials ... are not simply a stain on your reputation but are clear and present danger to the country and to the world."

Dr Fauci has been so dishonest about everything since the start of all of this.

For most of the pandemic, the left practically worshipped Dr. Anthony Fauci. But lately, people have been poking around. And one of the names that appears again and again is Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance and a longtime collaborator and funder of the virus-hunting work at Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Fauci said criticism against him is "dangerous" because his critics are actually criticizing science. Lying to congress, dangerous gain-of-function research and questionable public funds for his work are not criticizing science you ghoul.

Ted Cruz said:

Fauci is an unelected technocrat who has distorted science and facts in order to exercise authoritarian control over millions of Americans. He lives in a liberal world where his smug "I REPRESENT science" attitude is praised. Here are the facts: (1) On May 11, Fauci testified before a Senate Committee that "the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology." (2) On October 20, NIH wrote they funded an experiment at the Wuhan lab testing if "spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model." That is gain of function research. (3) Fauci's statement and the NIH's October 20 letter cannot both be true. The statements are directly contradictory. (4) 18 USC 1001 makes it felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, to lie to Congress.

"No amount of ad hominem insults parroting Democrat talking points will get Fauci out of this contradiction," Cruz concluded. "Fauci either needs to address the substance—in detail, with specific factual corroboration—or DOJ should consider prosecuting him for making false statements to Congress."

I am liking old Piers Morgan better all the time.

Piers Morgan: Time For Fauci To 'Put His Ego Away' And 'Shut The F*** Up'

https://www.dailywire.com/news/piers-morgan-time-for-fauci-to-put-his-ego-away-and-shut-the-f-up?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=benshapiro&fbclid=IwAR1FzJPYl7WwKOxBTzsLpXbcAKi57hKBBekqIRHOpJnuIgY4RaFbBgGbQmg">https://www.dailywire.com/news/piers-mo ... aFbBgGbQmg">https://www.dailywire.com/news/piers-morgan-time-for-fauci-to-put-his-ego-away-and-shut-the-f-up?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=benshapiro&fbclid=IwAR1FzJPYl7WwKOxBTzsLpXbcAKi57hKBBekqIRHOpJnuIgY4RaFbBgGbQmg

Piers Morgan has had it with Dr. Anthony Fauci's insatiable need for celebrity status. In a column for The Daily Mail, Morgan pointed out Fauci's incessant media appearances and snaps, "If, as he insists, his only interest is in saving lives, then it's time Anthony Fauci put his ego away, stayed off TV and shut the f*** up."

Morgan started his column by writing sardonically: "I've never heard Dr. Anthony Fauci's cell phone voicemail greeting, but I imagine it says: 'Yes, I'll come on your show,'" adding, "For someone whose day job is supposed to be leading America's scientific and medical war against Covid-19, he seems to have an incredible amount of spare time for self-promotional media interviews."

"The more he's been attacked, the more self-righteous, zealous and preachy Fauci has grown," Morgan opined, pointing out, "The problem with Fauci saying he IS the Science is that so often in the pandemic, he's got the science plain wrong."

Noting Fauci having claimed that the NIH "has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology" and saying at the same hearing that "there was no way to know if Chinese scientists working at the lab had lied and conducted gain of function experiments on bat coronaviruses using U.S. tax dollars," as Morgan put it.  He continued, "[His] furious reaction to any suggestions he's not being entirely transparent about it raises more suspicion than it dampens."

Morgan concluded:

But to borrow pandemic language, his ego has been spiking to dangerous heights in this crisis, and his demands for Republican senators to be prosecuted exposed a political bias that has no place in the office he holds ... The more he talks, the less many Americans either like or believe him.

They just see a narcissistic blow-hard who likes the sound of his own voice and constantly changes his mind. ... as we know, when it comes to facts about Covid, the good doctor's proven himself to be extremely fallible.

And the more he contradicts himself on TV, the more he erodes public trust.

If, as he insists, his only interest is in saving lives, then it's time Anthony Fauci put his ego away, stayed off TV and shut the f*** up.
