It's been said (I forget where) that the reason is a little more fundamental than that, and that it has everything to do with the outright destruction of capitalist society. Conspiracy? Maybe, but ranting and railing a bill is about "don't say gay" when even the most cursory inspection reveals it to be focused against the clandestine discussion of sexual preferences and subversion of young (read impressionable) minds behind their parents backs... the subtext does appear that the whole protest is being driven by people who are pissed off that they are being forbidden from working their deviant wiles in secret on a generation that has yet to discover sex at all.



I can't think of any more pernicious way of tearing down any society if indeed that is the aim. Either way, it's high time you gave serious consideration to investing in woodchippers, if only for the purpose of threatening anyone who thinks they have more of a claim on the raising of your kids than you do.
