How divorce works in the US depends on the state.



 Most states are no fault so you can file easily. I live in a no fault state and it's grossly easy. If you have kids it's a mandatory 6 month waiting period from the time you file to it being granted.  In that 6 months you go through the FOC (friend of the court) to decide things like custody and child support and it's best couples stay willing to work with eachother.



 In a state like a NY it's a nightmare.

In BC you can apply for divorce, but you have to be separated for one year before they grant it.



How ones divorce pans out depends how much of an asshole or a cunt one was/is.

  Thanks! Yeah I recently moved and now I'm back living in the God awful metro area BUT in my hometown so it's not SO bad and I've had a lot going on.  So I've just been shit posting at BF here and there.

All I have ever known are metro areas. That will change when I retire. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen in the next year or two.

Its normal for the wife to wanna leave the husband destitute.
