Admin asked me to name Trump policies I liked. Trump was not my choice for president in 2016 and he will not be in 2024. I am a Bill Weld and Rand Paul type voter. Trump was not a small government conservative and that is fair since he did not campaign as one. But, compared to Hillary Clinton and especially Joe Biden, his policies were and still are so much better for most Americans and here is why.

TRADE

-Quit the badly negotiated Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12-country Pacific Rim trade deal negotiated under Obama.

-Replacing NAFTA with the more balanced USMCA. The USMCA encourages U.S. manufacturing by requiring high-wage labor content for autos; strengthens supply chains to provide new market opportunities for the U.S. textile and apparel sector; provides strong protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights; includes the strongest labor provisions of any trade agreement; expands market access for American food and agricultural products; contains the strongest disciplines on digital trade of any international agreement; and makes environmental obligations fully enforceable.

-The United States initiated two actions to enforce environmental provisions in our free trade agreements, and our trading partners changed their practices.  The United States also obtained an historic WTO award of $7.5 billion annually – the largest in WTO history – in our country's long-running dispute with the European Union over illegal subsidies to Airbus.

-The Phase One Agreement with expanded trade, with enforceable commitments by China to increase purchases of U.S. exports by no less than $200 billion for two years. Unfortunately, it was not enforced by the Biden administration.

The result of these trade intiatives and others was 500,000 manufacturing jobs. In the twelve months prior to Trump taking office, 15, 000 manufacturing jobs were lost.

WORKERS and FAMILIES

-Doubled the Child Tax Credit from $1,000 to $2,000 per child and expanded the eligibility for receiving the credit.

Nearly 40 million families benefitted from the child tax credit (CTC), receiving an average benefit of $2,200 – totaling credits of approximately $88 billion.

-Created the first-ever paid family leave tax credit for employees earning $72,000 or less.

-Signed into law 12-weeks of paid parental leave for Federal workers.

-Signed into law a provision that enables new parents to withdraw up to $5,000 from their retirement accounts without penalty when they give birth to or adopt a child.

-Established the Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship programs in new and emerging fields which created 850,000 new apprenticeships.

-Established the National Council for the American Worker and the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board.

-Signed an executive order that directs the Federal government to replace outdated degree-based hiring with skills-based hiring.

HEALTH and WELLNESS

-Eliminated the Obamacare individual mandate. But, he could not get congress to repeal and replace Obamacare.

-Eliminated costly Obamacare taxes, including the health insurance tax, the medical device tax, and the "Cadillac tax."

-Finalized the Most Favored Nation Rule to ensure that pharmaceutical companies offer the same discounts to the United States as they do to other nations, resulting in an estimated $85 billion in savings over seven years and $30 billion in out-of-pocket costs alone.

-Ended the Unapproved Drugs Initiative, which provided market exclusivity to generic drugs resulting in lower out of pocket costs.

-Signed first-ever executive order to affirm that it is the official policy of the United States Government to protect patients with pre-existing conditions.

-Passed Right To Try to give terminally ill patients access to lifesaving cures.

BORDER SECURITY

-Ended the dangerous practice of Catch-and-Release, which means that instead of aliens getting released into the United States pending future hearings never to be seen again, they are detained pending removal, and then ultimately returned to their home countries.

-Entered into three historic asylum cooperation agreements with Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala to stop asylum fraud and resettle illegal migrants in third-party nations pending their asylum applications.

-Entered into a historic partnership with Mexico, referred to as the "Migrant Protection Protocols," to safely return asylum-seekers to Mexico while awaiting hearings in the United States.

-Streamlined and expedited the asylum hearing process through both the Prompt Asylum Claim Review (PACR) and the Humanitarian Asylum Review Process (HARP).

PEACE and SECURITY

-Brokered historic peace agreements between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries, including the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Sudan. The Abraham Accords.

-Brokered historic peace agreements between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries, including the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Sudan.

-Announced the Vision for Peace Political Plan – a two-state solution that resolves the risks of Palestinian statehood to Israel's security, and the first time Israel has agreed to a map and a Palestinian state.

-Created the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) in partnership between the United States and its Gulf partners to combat extremist ideology and threats, and target terrorist financial networks, including over 60 terrorist individuals and entities spanning the globe.

EDUCATION

-The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expanded School Choice, allowing parents to use up to $10,000 from a 529 education savings account to cover K-12 tuition costs at the public, private, or religious school of their choice.

-Launched a new pro-American lesson plan for students called the 1776 Commission to promote patriotic education.

-Prohibited the teaching of Critical Race Theory in the Federal government.

-Signed into law the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which provides over 13 million students with high-quality vocational education and extends more than $1.3 billion each year to states for critical workforce development programs.

-Signed the INSPIRE Act which encouraged NASA to have more women and girls participate in STEM and seek careers in aerospace.

-Signed an executive order that ensures public universities protect First Amendment rights or they will risk losing funding, addresses student debt by requiring colleges to share a portion of the financial risk, and increases transparency by requiring universities to disclose information about the value of potential educational programs.

-Signed into law the FUTURE Act, making permanent $255 million in annual funding for historically Black colleges and universities.

MISCELLANEOUS

-Signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – the largest tax reform package in history. A typical family of four earning $75,000 received an income tax cut of more than $2,000 – slashing their tax bill in half.

-Doubled the standard deduction – making the first $24,000 earned by a married couple completely tax-free.

-Energy Independence.  Opened ANWR and approved and completed Dakota Access Pipeline. Gasoline, home heating and electricity prices were low.

-Withdrew the United States from the job-killing and totally unfair Paris Climate Accord.

-Withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Deal.

-Reduced the SALT tax loophole making taxes simpler and fairer.

I could go on of course, but Admin and Holliday don't read and don't care. In their closed world, Trump bad, the people that voted for him are worse and they are moral and wise.

There were many setbacks too, especially in health care and trade, but congress shares the blame equally with the former president. Trump has never been my first choice for president. But, compared to the two Dems he faced, he was by far the best option.

I could not create such a list for Biden. From the misleading IRA to the CHIPS Act to his infrastructure program, they all will lead to higher prices for middle income Americans and massive taxpayer transfers to the welathiest Americans.

Lokmar

-Signed into law 12-weeks of paid parental leave for Federal workers.

There's absolutely no reason why a man should take 3 fucking months off from work when his kid is born. Its fucking bullshit and the other employees that have to cover for him suffer greatly. I know cause I just had to cover for this fucktard that got a free 3 month vacation for him jizzing in his wife and his customer base was a shit show to figure out. I had to do the same about 2 years ago for the same asshole.

Every single program in America costs me. Not only that, but I pay to suffer the consequences of it too. All we do anymore is raise a bunch of lazy assholes. At any rate, no man should take 12 weeks off for a kid. He should use his vacation time....all 2-4 weeks of it at most!

If I was voting in the US election, I would not want Trump to be the GOP candidate anymore than progs want Jim Crow Joe to be their candidate. He is yesterday's candidate. DeSantis would be my candidate. Maybe Tim Scott. The others are fiscal conservatives and that aint for old Herman.

Trump is targeted and persecuted for our sake unfairly, for sure. But he is also his own worst enemy too often and appears to have learned no lessons from his losses if he won't come to Iowa and talk with host Tucker Carlson on Friday. Maybe I'm the only one, but I'd kinda like to know why we should put our futures in the hands of a guy who may be in jail on Election Day? Or who lacks so much self-control, when we really need him to have enough to win a must-win election, that he's trashing our beloved Governor Kim Reynolds because she won't anoint him yet as her lord and savior.

Trump is in danger of becoming the very thing he supposedly came to destroy. He even hides from competition to the point he obsesses about a man – Ron DeSantis – whom he claims to be destroying. He's only done one rally since April 27. He offers no specifics on how he plans to win this time. His fundraising lags behind DeSantis. Much of his messaging is "look at the polls" and poorly lit videos of his lamentations posted at Truth Social, where he also daily seethes. There is no evidence being presented that Trump is prepared, or even willing, to do what must be done to reverse the GOP's loss of independent swing voters in three consecutive elections.

Lokmar

DeSantis simply doesnt have enough support to be the nominee. I mean if I had my preference, I would clone Augusto Pinochet, make him POTUS, and we'd spend all day scooping up libtards and dropping them out of air planes over Chicongo....but that aint gonna happen either.
