Effective my birthday, November 25, I am thinking of changing my year of birth from 1986 to 1996, at least on my resume.

I am doing it to hide some of my dead end jobs and dead end schools, so I have a better chance at landing a job at a grocery store or department store.

I want to recapture some of the beginners luck I had when I was looking for a job the first time around.

Changes to my resume will be as follows:

Year of birth: changed from 1986 to 1996.

Elementary school, middle school/junior high, and high school: changed from 1991-2004 to 2001-2014.

Correspondence courses 2004-2005: removed.

College -- arts and science courses -- 2005-2007: removed.

College -- 1st year mechanical engineering -- 2007-2008: removed.

That grocery store I worked for 2008-2010 and got fired from: removed.

That inventory job that only lasted a few months in 2011: removed.

That sign walker job at that pizza place 2012-2013: it can stay on my resume, even though it now overlaps with grades 10 and 11.

The sign walker job at the ink cartridge refill company I am currently working for: it can stay on my resume, even though it now overlaps with the tail end of grade 12.

Have you thought about expanding your job search area to different cities or provinces RDL?
