Quote from: "RW"That article doesn't say it's common core for sex ed.  It doesn't say it's banned in prisons.  In fact, it says that books get banned for ridiculous reasons in the US.  Given that it is one of the most banned books in America and they don't even allow Captain Undrpants in schools, I'm going to say this book is NOT a part of the sexual health curriculum.  It is in some school LIBRARIES though.

Well see now here is where researching what I'm saying might just come in fucking handy before you go off all full of yourself telling me I'm wrong or exaggerating.  Common core IS trying to work it into the curriculum and it's even been all the news here. Fuck.

Quote from: "Azhya Aryola"If I recall correctly, they had this also in middle school. I can't remember exactly when my adult son had his class and now my 17 year old had it years ago. Anyway, no matter what they were told in that class, I had lessons to teach them too.

That's how it should be in terms of parents taking a toll in teaching.

Here, they teach the anatomical, physiological, security and relationship piece but leave the moral, ethical standards to the parents.  Before sex ed happens in the schools, the instructor for the district offers a parent education class so they know what's being taught and what they can add to their learning.  Its not outrageous stuff that these kids are learning - it's about how their bodies work and it's stuff every kid should know.

You've already said exaggerating like a fool is your shtick (ya, I remember that conversation).  Put up the article or news link about it and let's discuss it.  Maybe in the link you are going to provide is a reason why they want to teach kids this stuff.

I won't hold my breath either.

Quote from: "RW"They're finding high school is too late for that kind of thing.  Kids are hitting puberty at 9 and 10, 11 and 12 year olds are having sex.  Children are being exploited and abused.

Teaching kids the anatomical basics at an earlier age decreases their chances of being sexually abused.  It also makes it A LOT easier to talk to them when they are teenagers.
Exactly. As far as I'm concerned exposing my ten year old to graphic illustrations of intercourse and descriptions of how good sex feels is exploitation and abuse.

I didn't open a discussion about sex ed. I stated my disapproval of this particular book, as you have seen in my post. You are the one who started in about sex ed.

Most of the people pissed about this book aren't even religious....so ....yeah.

I agree even if it's only happening in your imagination.

Link where they are making this book part of sex ed curriculum.

I also know full well that keeping kids in the dark about sexual education isn't restricted to religious parents.

You call that porn?  ac_lmfao

Why would a book for educating youth about sex be allowed in prisons in the first place?

You haven't providing a link confirming that either BTW.

I call it innapropriate for elementary school.  Just because you are liberal with sex with your young kids doesn't give you the right to criticize other parents. These things can be taught at home.  I'm not paying tax dollars for some outside source to teach my kids about different sex positions, masturating and anal sex.

Are your fingers broke? Check it yourself. I know I'm right....you are the one arguing. Go research it your damn self.

How about you support your own arguments.  If you can't, I call bullshit.  You're no stranger to how this works Dove.

Thank God for public schools stepping in and saving our kids from exploitation, promiscuity, sexual repression and the terror of breaking hymens in between rounds of minecraft and for building.

But the image you posted doesn't show different sex positions or anal sex.  It shows sex (which people have), it shows masturbation (which young kids do), it shows putting on a condom (safe sex FTW).

If this book isn't for you, tell your kids to not read it.  For those of us who are okay with our kids understand sexuality, let us decide if they read it.  Who the hell are you to impart ignorance on other people's kids?
