Renee, I wanted to ask you kind of a personal question if you don't mind? Is most of your family overweight? I have two sisters and one brother. Nobody is morbidly obese, but we all have thick builds. I could not be skinny if I fasted for a month.

I know it's different for women, I was making a joke at the expense of myself. I do that a lot. If you can't laugh at yourself then you need to get the stick out of your ass.



As to your question, most of the women on my mom's side of the family are heavy. Unfortunately they all seem to have the fat gene and I was the only one of my siblings to be lucky enough to have it passed on to me.  



Being ethnically Italian on that side of the family doesn't help with our diets either. So consequently many of us struggle with weight issues.



I've been overweight since birth (10 pounds plus). I've been everything from morbidly obese to slightly chubby and everything in between. Like you I could eat nothing but lettuce for months and the results would not make me look remotely thin.  The fact that I'm short (5'3" when on my toes ) wide hipped with broad shoulders doesn't help. Judging by how I'm put together I probably should have been at least 4" taller.
