Quote from: "Herman"I just saw Tonya Harding on the satellite. What a redneck princess. :laugh3:

Was it the "Wedding Video"?  :laugh3:

It was world's dumbest I forget whatever, but she was one of the hosts. What a redneck she is. I love her. ac_lovestruck

Professing love for Tonya Harding is definitely a forum first....in fact, it might even be an internet first. :laugh3:

We have so much in common. But, I would have broken Nancy Kerrigan's right leg myself.

That took guts.  :laugh3:

Didn't Tonya Harding become a wrestler or a boxer?

I believe she had a short lived boxing career.

She fought a bunch of bums and retired pretty. :laugh3:

I drink $100 single malts, than you VERY much.

A hunnert bucks doesn't go as far as it used to in the liquor store, I've noticed.

The last whiskey I ever hope to buy was Old Fitzgerald, which was at the time a six year old 86 proof Bourbon with a bit of wheat, rather than rye, in the corn mash.  It was then an upper middle tier whiskey that sold for about six dollars a fifth (757ml.)  It's now over twice that much and is considered a bottom shelf bottle.  The distillery offers premium, super premium and ultra premium labels that are still Old Fitz but you can easily pay up to fifty bucks for a (new) fifth.  This proliferation of up-labeled whiskies seems very foolish to a hillbilly like me.  It has taken the drinking of spirits out of the hands of Real Men and turned it into a sipping competition for effete snobs.

I could say the same for rye whiskeys as for corn whiskey.  In my drinking days, Scotch drinkers tended to be a bit more self-consciously snobbish than Bourbon drinkers but rarely needed to go beyond Johnnie Red or Dewars.  There were only a couple of Irish ryes on the US market then, and American rye was nearly extinct.  Whatever your preference, your fifth of whisky without the "e" was only gonna set you back ten bucks or less, out the door.  And while I can understand and even appreciate the newer preference for single malts over blended Scotches, I also think a lot of people who get suckered into paying more than 25 bucks for ordinary everyday sipping whiskey/whisky are just snobbish chumps who probably couldn't tell the difference between the Glenlivet and the Glenmorangie in a blind test...nor, presumably, would they miss the two Franklins they had wasted on marketing hype.
