^I don't agree with that. Secular Muslims are fine. We have a Pakistani friend that loves his vodka, women, bacon and his dog. Not necessarily in that order. and not for the same reasons. He makes fun of Islam at every opportunity.

I know a devout Muslim who never says bad things about people and invites us in for chocolate at 4am after we give him rides home from parties, where he doesn't drink at.

I would never trust anyone that has a literal view of the Koran, Hadith, etc.....NO FUCKING WAY!!

It's all about interpretation.  Same as the Bible Shen.  That's why you see extremists in multiple religions.

This guy was definitely a devout Muslim so I guess maybe they don't follow all this supposed bullshit?  I can't really ask him as he moved back to Iraq to be married.

I'm failing to see why this is so difficult to understand.  Within religion, you have all sorts of different types who have all sorts of different interpretations of the same text(s).  You'll have different sects, off shoots, cults, extremist groups, etc.  You'll have different applications within cultures, laws, morals, values, ethics, etc.  You'll see these texts used for all sorts of different reasons, justifications and excuses.  



To say everyone in a religion follows their holy texts the exact same way is just bullshit.  Then comes the, "well if they don't then they aren't truly *insert religious type here" garbage.  It's the same shit song over and over again.



Islam is not special or different in this regard despite you trying to say otherwise.

That's not true. My maternal grandpa was an officer in the People's Liberation Army and a card carrying member of the insane Maoist-era CCP. A finer man you could not meet, but his ideology sucked at that time.
