Police used an explosive device to distract the gunman and rescue around 30 people who had been taken hostage

One poured gasoline down the stairs of a packed New Years eve club in Seattle



Only the luck that a bouncer at the foot of the entry  stairs saw him pour 5 gallons of gas down the stairs and light it .. . and the luck there was a fire extinguisher beside him so he could put it out before it killed 100s (which was the plan - to and I quote  "exterminate gays")



But for good luck and a good bouncer, he would have killed 100s trapped inside
