Quote from: "Superchecker"City bus driver trainees are in demand!!

Metro Vancouver needs hundreds of trainees each year! http://www.translink.ca/careers/">http://www.translink.ca/careers/ and then click onto Coast Mountain Bus Company.

HandyDART is also hiring too, class #4 license required.

BC Transit- Victoria is also hiring: https://bctransit.com/Victoria/careers/">https://bctransit.com/Victoria/careers/

This a great idea. I should post some CP job ads. The only problem eith that is if you are hired you actually have to work for CP. :yuk:

My Daddy worked for CN as the division engineer for Edmonton  West. He said it was a bureaucratic place to work. Some of the things they did made no sense.  Most of that though is Transport Canada trying to make themselves relevant.

Quote from: "Odinson"So... A canadian bus driver gets over 3000euros per month..

I just did some quick converting, and I made over 50,000 Euros last year.

That's nearly twenty thousand Canadian dollars more than what I made last year Superchecker.

Damn! That's a lot more than bus drivers make here in Barrie I think.

SC,

Have you ever had any violent passengers?  If it happens in the future, feel free to warn them that you are a friend(with benefits RRARRR) with the Iron Chink. That will put the fear of God into them.

It sounds like a part time job until one has a lot of seniority Superchecker..

Perhaps, I'm misunderstanding what you mean.

Conventional is all full time, minimum 7.5 hours per day.

There are a variety of ways of earning more than just 7.5 hours per day. Many shifts have built in overtime, because they are longer than 7.5 hours.

Evening shifts earn an extra $1 an hour.

Sunday shifts are paid at time and a half.

Holiday shifts are paid at time and a half, plus a days pay for the bank stat day too.

Some longer split shifts have spread over pay added too.

By working Sundays and holidays, I average an extra 15 hours per pay period. Plus, the Sunday premium increases my pension by 10% too!

You posted this "minimum 7.5 hours per week", but obviously that was a mistake.

How many hours/day on average?

In here the busdrivers dont get sums like that..

A female friend of mine has two masters degrees but she only gets like 2100e/month..
minimum 7.5 hours per day. I choose to work Sundays and holidays for the extra pay. Probably average at least 45 hours a week.

The busdrivers here get around 25k/year.

The salaries are bigger on that side of the puddle.

Even within Canada, I think Vancouver transit operators are probably the best paid in the country..

Superchecker will probably know..

Vancouver is Canada's most expensive city in which to live.

Well, for years I worked split shifts instead of late nights.

I really don't haven't many evil stories.

Had a guy crap all over the rear seats.

Helped an emotional and lost teen girl meet up with friends.

Been spat on for refusing to give a free ride.

Been rear ended a few times.

Broken down like once or twice a year.

Been stuck in more than a few ice/snow storms.

Seen a young couple pleasuring themselves. Seen a lady of the evening without underwear sit down in full view of everyone getting on the bus.

Helped put out 2 engine fires, and 2 or 3 grass fires.

http://www.translink.ca/careers/">www.translink.ca/careers/ and then Bus Operator Opportunities.

Clean regular class #5 license, some customer service experience, able to do shift work, must have the learners air brakes endorsement prior to training.

Do you mean some guy dropped his pants and took a dump on bus seat?

Did the spitter run after he did that?
