You make it sound that Canadians eat and drink nothing but toxic shit, while Australians somehow have this 'magical' process that elevates your juice and foods to some sort of 'gold standard' status.

It's fucking apple juice, for fucks sake!  It's almost impossible to fuck it up!

That shit you drink is for sale here too. We won't drink it though. It's nasty.
Blahhhhhh...

Can they even grow fruit in Canada, other than snowballs?

BC, Ontario and Nova Scotia grow lots of seasonal fruits like apples, peaches, plums, cherries, pears, and all berries.

I think that's what they ripped it off from!  Except the apple version!

Fash is correct.

Although we do rely on California and surrounding States even during the summer, for certain produce.  In fact, during the Winter we rely, as does the US also, on Mexico.

Some things just need a hot climate.

I used to truck this produce up for Safeway years ago.  Golden Boy and Bobby Boy and all those other brand names of your produce, was delivered in my truck.

In the Summer Cali, Arizona, etc, could grow and supply this.  In the Winter, they could not...  That's when I'd have to spend time RIGHT on the Mexican border, waiting for a shipment from Mexico.

This is where your produce comes from.

We grow our own, 365 days a year.

It would interesting to compare your retail produce prices to our own.

And the fruits and veggies we grow are superior in taste to Cali imports.

Bananas $1.99 a kilo.

Apples and pears $2.99 a kilo.

Oranges can vary...usually around $1.99 a kilo but you can buy 5 kg bags for $3.

Melons fluctuate but around $1 a kilo, often less.

Grapes around $2 a kilo.

Strawberries the same.

Blueberries are still seasonal...around $4 a kilo.

Mangoes around $4 each.

Pineapples the same.

Avocados are all over the place. You get 3 for $4 at Aldi's.

Stone fruits are still seasonal...and so orchardists tend to stay away from them. Once you could get them for silly money, but growers preferred a less seasonal crop and most of the orchards were replaced. So now they are expensive, even though they grow like weeds and bear tonnes of fruit.

With the exceptions of bananas, pineapples, mangos and avacados produce prices are lower in Australia.

Quote from: "Bricktop"Well, we're not covered in ice. So we can grow stuff.

Stuff is grown here too, but what's fucked up is that the stuff we import costs less sometimes than stuff we grow. Bananas and oranges are cheap in this country.

When I lived in Queensland, some groceries were cheaper. A few things like beef were more.

Some of his prices are a bit off. Add on average about 25% to them all.
