Do Sheriffs carry guns?

They are armed in BC and Alberta, and I would assume they are armed in other Provinces also...

Sheriffs aren't true 'cops' per se, as they do not have full policing powers.  I've already explained this in this thread.



For instance, in BC a Sheriff can NOT issue a traffic ticket, while in Alberta they can.
