Uh oh...

I spotted these two on Wednesday and thought they were unusual. I've never seen them before, and they're quite a pretty bird.

Its a Barbary Dove from Africa, and is categorised as an invasive species and must be reported when sighted.

Apparently they make adorable pets.

This cute little guy is a hoary headed grebe...native to Australia. This one is a very young grebe. You can tell by the markings. Cute as a toot.

Cockatiels are a lot more  affordable than other birds in the parrot family..

This one can talk, but it's hard to understand it.

Yes, many times.

One of these birds is not like the others...

A flock of Australian crested doves...and an interloper. Don't often see them flock in trees, so it was an unusual sight.

Canon EOS R and a budget 70-300mm. There have been reports of the mandarin duck at a lake here. Local news calls it the most beautiful duck in the world. There were a lot of photographers at the lake. I was astonished on the amount of people who thought that the everyday wood duck was the infamous mandarin duck. It was a little disappointing that I couldn't photograph it. There was also a recent sighting of it in New York City's Central Park. The duck is native to East Asia. Nobody knows how it got here.

Nice. We don't really have doves like that. Pigeons for us.
