But of course, despite launching 85% into their failed administration, this will all be Orange Man's fault

What drives me crazy is we've known the economy is in the shitter for months now but these fuckers thought they could cover it up until the elections were over.

And yet the stock market has more or less had a bull run since at least 2012, the longest in history.

So it was bound to end at some point....Lokmar!

Based on past performance, if theres a sharp correction or crash in 2024/5, it takes at least 2-4 years to begin to recover.

So 2025 may be a good time to buy in but don't expect a recovery till 2028 or so.

I'm dying to see how they attempt to spin this into a trump inheritance 44 months into their failure of a term despite having touted themselves as economic boomers.

This bold face lie will be both interesting and stomach churning to watch simultaneously

I heard somewhere that two financial quarters of negative growth constitutes a recession. But that might have been redefined... kinda like the words "vaccine" and "insurrection" were redefined.

Except you already know how that plays out. Or you should. The average CNN watcher has the effective memory span of a gnat; the talking points get shoveled into their otherwise vacuum packed craniums exist only until their memories get bleach-bitted ahead of the next update of talking points. And it doesn't matter if the new information contradicts the old, just as long as every libtard NPC is on the same page.

Case in point? Touting Obamala as the border czar, subsequently denying she was ever appointed such. Or being the first Indian VP, then magically being redefined as "black".

Donald Trump and MAGA by extension will get blamed for the crashing stockmarket. It will not stand up to logical scrutiny, so logical scrutiny will not be entertained among their shrinking core of supporters, only the fiction will. Dissenting opinion will be ridiculed and swiftly silenced in the face of The Narrative which will be pushed 24/7 by the usual suspects and offered up as a reason why they had to go all Venezuela mode on the 2024 elections.

Fight it.

I bet if the Republicans had chosen somebody more moderate like Glenn Youngkin & a Nikki Haley ticket theyd have sewn up the election avatar_Biggie Smiles Bigly.

Plus he could have delivered Virginia for them.

There is nothing to be scared of other than Trumps  health could fail but he looks fit enough to put in 4 years. Plus the young buck Vance looks pretty healthy and is on the same page as Trump.

And yet the majority appear to favor someone like Harris because she doesn't frighten them like Trump. So at least this time they may be willing to accept a worse economy and a more agreeable candidate than someone they consider more ideologically divisive.

2028 may be a different story tho avatar_caskur caskur.

I suspect even if Kamala wins this election she may only be a 1 term President.

He is done. He has been languishing in the polls for the past eighteen months. He is in a minority government propped up the ultra proggy New Democratic Party.

We have to have an election by October, 2025. Trudeau's Liberal Party will get trounced. Pierre Pollivere will become prime minister. But, Trudeau is inflicting a lot of damage before we fire him.

Yeah I've seen them.

Like Biden Trump is too old to be President.

Kamalas sudden popularity might have less to do with her actual appeal than American voters being tired of Biden and Trump.

I think in many ways Harris was a compromise candidate than being the best one the Democrats could muster avatar_caskur caskur.

The best outcome might have been an open convention like many Democrats wanted but Biden shut the door on that option by refusing to step down.

And so the Democrats are stuck with Kamala wheter they like it or not.

I'm not entirely sure how much of it is a result of being duped and how much it is a result of having bought into the lie and being unwilling to admit error. The average leftie has had their brains either completely fired or completely washed. A little of both columns I suspect.

Put yourself in their shoes for a moment and indulge this hypothetical; what if someone could conclusively prove to you that everything you thought you knew was in fact a lie? How would you react to that?

Now amplify that by orders of magnitude and check your composure at the door. Because they don't have any at the best of times and too many of them absolutely despise what they interpret as a threat to their "truth". This is the mindset that insisted that you were "crying" in 2020 when really all you were saying was "ahh fuck... four years of incompetent bullshit ahead".

They don't see that. All they remember were the tears they shed in 2016 when their pants-suited heroine launched herself at the glass ceiling and bounced back into a bucket of bile and empty champagne magnums. In the face of defeat, they did not reassess what went wrong, they simply blamed you and people like you and swore you would suffer as their hearts suffered. And their authoritative sources were only too happy for fan the flames of their discontent.

They're destroyed, most of them. I'm sorry; I guess you know a few, I do too. I didn't do it to them... I was simply content to get on with my own life while scores of them tried to convince me that their plans for how everyone should live were superior and should take ultimate precedent. Quite a few were mortified that I did not accede to their whims, some likely still hate my guts to this day, but that is their problem. I'm not about to make their problems mine and neither should you.

Quote from: Brent on August 05, 2024, 02:13:08 PMOne hundred percent Trump will be blamed for Biden's recession if Trump wins.
If? They're going to pin it on him and his supporters by hook or by crook before the election happens - they have to. Every excuse under the sun will be employed. They know they are on the ropes, that's why you're seeing all these push-polls being trotted out, it's why you're seeing homeless people getting paid to fill Obamala's gymnasiums in the hopes people will see a half crowded hall and think it places her within striking distance of the tens of thousands that attend your average Trumpian open air rally.

Bank on this much Brent; Trump is positively killing it in the popularity stakes and his political opponents are running scared. They've resorted to outright lying and every trick in the book in the hopes they might kick the can that is the anglosphere down the road for another four years. There's too much riding on it for them not to. Their grip on the narrative is tenuous and they will expect Trump to shoulder the blame for Biden's fuckups (not just economic either) and it will start before election day, not after.

It's true, I've seen it happen before. Back in the 1990s there was this schoolteacher by the name of Joan Kirner who assumed the role of Premier of the state of Victoria, Australia, right after her predecessor John Cain stepped down from the position. Victoria has a reputation for being somewhat of a progressive shithole, particularly in its capital city of Melbourne.

I knew someone that worked in the media liason unit for the state parliament. He told me in Joan's first meeting with her cabinet that they had 18 months before the next election to "make it pay" and instructed her colleagues to spend like there was no tomorrow. Because politically at least there wasn't, not for her party.

Sure enough, 18 months later she was out and her political opponent Jeff Kennett was in. Hey, he at least got the state back on it's feet somewhat... by stitching up corrupt deals with casino operators and international sporting organisations. Shit that the corruption watchdogs were still getting to the bottom of 20 years on.

And don't get me started on the shit he allowed the police force to get away with openly. Amnesty International were screaming blue bloody murder at people getting dragged about by their necks for the crime of sitting crosslegged in front of schools he had ordered closed.

And Victorians kept voting for both parties.

"I gonna buy more Platinum cuz my good friend Lokmar told me so! He told me ta buy more gold last year 'stead of collectibles an' they keep goin' up while the stock market and everythin' else keeps crashin'!"

According to my buddy Lokmar, next it's gonna be Platinum's time ta shine!"

You'll probably be able to find someone to do mow your lawn cheaper very soon.

I could easily get a Guatamalan to do it for 40, but Juan Pablo's a good guy and Mexicans aren't quite as foreign as Guatamalians or Canadians.

Tharz not much ya kin do about a buncha hot-headed, hot-blooded Arabs, Jews 'n Eye-Ranians avatar_Oliver the Second Ollie. I don't like any of 'em. If they're deteremined ta blow themselves and each other up, then that's their destiny.

I'm tired of worrying about the survival of Israel cuz they haven't done their part to make peace in that part of the world. Same old same old.

Mind you, militant Islam just as fanatical. If they blow each other up, they blow each other up. Not my problem. I just hope the radioactive dust doesn't affect us.

All we kin do is live our lives.

I'm not a Jew or an Arab or Eye-ranian so I don't support any of em.

God whatta bunch hotheaded people. All of 'em.

The first four minutes of that video cracks me up... I remember a time early in the Biden administration where gas prices were soaring and people had taken to stickering gas pumps with pictures of Joe Biden and the phrase "I did that"...

Strangely enough, the Rachael Maddows of this world were not as amused at the practice as they were about the rando Russian woman in Madcow's opening remarks above.

I've lost money on yer Silver investment tips but gained on gold...Lokmar!

Luckily however I was more heavily invested in Gold.

Rumor has it that the Fed will cut rates in September.

So I suspect that while the price of silver stagnates or goes down a bit, it may be a good time ta buy it...Lokmar!

Maybe $26/27 is a good price point to buy in during August?

Gold seems to have stabilized around $2400 so it may see a bounce later this year. If not this year then in 2025?

I bet Platinum is gonna go down especially if a recession hits....Lokmar!

Silver might too but will offer more of a hedge during turbulent times.

Gold will provide the best hedge if all.

Still I'd keep an eye out for platinum which could be a good buy if the economy and stock markets tank further in 2025.

I'm guessin a good time to buy platinum may be in early to late 2025 when the prices are lower.

Remind me if that forecast is correct in a year or so...Lokmar!

Good time to buy silver is about now.

Looks like things are getting back to normal with the stock markets going back up again.

Guess that was a warning from Wall Street that the Fed & J Powell had better give them their rate cut or they'll crash the stock market & the economy

Expect a rate cut this September

Seems Wall Street gets their way by blackmailing everybody

Dont play their game and they make us pay
