Those dogs are American soldiers. They risk their lives no less than the any of the boots on the ground and they do it out of love and faithfulness that few humans can match. You bet your ass I do, as does any servicemen that work or have worked with those dogs... The US military considers them soldiers in fact they are considered an NCO (noncomissioned officer) and often outrank their handlers... They recieve decorations and ribbons for valor, not directly from the US government but they are nonetheless recognized by those who serve with them... They are also entitled to a miltary funeral (with honors) depending upon their service record.
