There doesnt seem to be much difference between it and the suggest "digital pound".

If it's the digital pound I think you're referring to, it's more the idea that it can be "programmed" in such a way that a third party can control what you are allowed to spend it on. Dependent on some arbitrary set of conditions.... say an ESG score for example.



You might have encountered a situation where your Mastercard (Visa, whatever... fuck you) would not allow you to pay for a particular item or service that was considered "bad". Well it's like that, only instead of locking vendors out of the marketplace, you lock out individual people instead. Like if they'd donated money to a cause that was unpopular (see Canadian trucker protest) or held views deemed "problematic" about genital lobotomies... pick your poison. You might even set it to expire by a certain date, if you didn't want too many plebians amassing a store of wealth.



But of course nobody would ever do that now, would they?

I make it a point to pay for things in cash wherever I can. Bought a car with it today in fact. Lately I've noticed financial institutions making cursory attempts to wheedle details of why I might want so much money at the teller window, and more that one bank has telegraphed their plans to do away with over the counter withdrawals, forcing one to deal with that dreaded hole in the wall and its ever decreasing daily limit.



We should probably protest the forced migration to e-commerce. Unless you like the idea of having your spending habits tightly circumscribed of course... in which case "BAAAA-AAA-AAAA. BAAA! BAAA-AAA-AAA!"

I used to go to a Ukrainian Orthodox church when I was a kid. That is until I got caught stealing the sacremental wine.


theres a greek orthodox church in my state.... saw it once.... it was HUGE.... looked like a stadium with stained glass windows everywhere.... i guess it was one of those mega churches like on television....

i'm not sure we have "alot".... i've only met two in my entire time here.... but i believe the ones we have are quite well-off.... i'm sure the rest of the attendees are just drawn to mega churches.... there are alot of ppl like that here....

look, man.... i get it.... "we live on a ball" is the first thing they taught you in school.... its canonical in all of academia along with the big bang, evolution and the "moon landing".... i'm sure its difficult to question such a "time honored" belief.... i'm sure you can't understand why a deception of this magnitude would even be necessary to them.... these ppl HATE God.... and they're doing their best to twist and defy the Word of God.... God says "the earth sits firmly on its foundations unshakable and unmoving" so they teach you "we're on a ball spinning wildly and recklessly through limitless outer space".... God says "He lovingly made us in His image" so they teach you "we evolved from monkeys that evolved from fish".... God said "He placed us in a carefully crafted and perfectly designed self-sustaining ecosystem" so they say "we're the totally random result of a giant explosion and a series of coincidences".... God said "let My Word be true and every man a liar".... He also said "the wisdom of man is foolishness in the eyes of God".... now if you're seriously comfortable believing what they tell you then by all means carry on.... free will is the greatest and most dangerous gift that has ever been given.... it requires so much responsibility to maintain it.... you can let "them" tell you "who you are" and "where you came from".... OR you can come with me and find out for yourselves....

i know.... i used to feel the same way.... i try to avoid even referencing the Bible because it prompts such a visceral response from ppl.... its cool.... one of us is wrong.... might be me (though i know its not).... but if it is me, i don't stand to lose anything.... if its YOU, you'll lose it all....

i've read plenty of seuss books.... my grandkids enjoyed em.... but they don't give me the same level of comfort that the Bible offers me.... maybe you'll change your mind one day.... maybe you won't.... but you should at least look at something with an open mind before you reject it.... before you can say "i don't believe that", you need to understand what is that you "don't believe"....

The bible is folklore. I have nothing against folklore. It's part of our culture. However, that's all it is. I don't quote Chinese folklore because I don't expect anybody to take it to heart.
