Australians were their own worse enemies. They played tricks on Americans using vegemite as the prop. Knowing how greedy Americans are, they knew Americans would treat Vegemite like peanut butter or nutella and apply the incredibly salty extract thickly. Then Aussies would laugh their arses off watching innocent Americans faces recoil in horror.
