Since I am dead smack in the middle of this thing's path I figured I'd bring you a first hand eyewitness accounting of what's going on.

There are runs on water and gas and anything related to power outages (which we are expecting).

Generators - Gone
bottled water - gone
batteries  -gone
milk, juice, eggs etc - gone
Propane - gone
Gas - about an hour wait time at any gas station
Gas canisters - Gone
paper goods - Gone

Homeless shelters - filled to capacity.   My girl and I are gonna hitch a chain to the back of the Ford F150 and go get this dude we see who lives by the local WaWa gas station. He literally lives out of some kind of tiny camper not much bigger than one of those ice coolers. Shit is sad. I got room.

Just saw military helicopters flying overhead by my house. Guess shit is really real right now.

and if you dont hear from me it's cause I lost internet connectivity. Not power. I got plenty of emergency power so I'm good.

I'm good on water. I have 50 gallons stocked via those 5 gallon jugs connected to my water cool. Over 200 bottles of water

I have my own well water so all I need is 20 amps to the well pump and I'm good indefinitely as that has been backup wired to a solar generator

5 large propane tanks and two grills and word burning outdoor oven for cooking + a charcoal backup with 5 bags of charcoal

Skillet indoor with 20 8oz propane tanks

125 gallons of gas and 1 13500 watt generator along with 2 solar generators each running at 2500 watts with 800 watt panels. 6 low power consumption window ACs to cool the bedrooms minus one

4 car batteries and a 1000 watt inverter with solar recharging capabilities

2 7cubic Ft freezers packed to the brim with plenty of frozen meat and quick make meals

500 cans of various meals (raviolis etc)
50 cans of pasta sauce
20 pounds of pasta noodles
100 lbs of rice
100 cans of beans
And a wide assortment of other stuff to eat

I think I'll be ok

with the water in the bath I was thinking more on the lines of toilet flushing water.

Shit,... he is talking about pasta and it's nearly lunch time and I'm starving....lol. I am exaggerating... I am not starving yet but I will be in an hour...

Toilet flushing comes through the use of the well water.

Ok Idalia is going to be a Cat 3, that means wind speed and has nothing to do with how much water those clouds will dump, so flooding will be an issue.

All of Florida is swamp and river.  He'll be fine.  It's a little fucking rainstorm.  You didn't see me whining about the weather last April when we had tennis ball sized hail here., though it is a good thing my car was inside the garage when it happened.
