The Biden family will be served with about "two dozen" subpoenas in the "very near future," according to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.). The Republican said he thinks it could be a "big week" for the case.

The comments came just days after the House committee released evidence of a $40,000 payment to Joe Biden from 2017 that went through multiple entities, including a Chinese company.

According to Comer, a Chinese company called Northern International wired $5 million to Hudson West III, a company established in part by Hunter Biden. That company then sent $400,000 to an entity owned and controlled by Hunter Biden, before transferring another $150,000 to Lion Hall Group.

Lion Hall Group is owned by James and Sarah Biden, the president's brother and sister-in-law, who then withdrew $50,000 in cash from the company. Later that same day, Sarah Biden deposited the money into her and James Biden's personal checking account and then cut a $40,000 check to Joe Biden.

The House Committee has referred to the money as "laundered China money."

Republicans faced losses in elections on Tuesday, as Kentucky's incumbent Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear secured re-election, defeating Republican state Attorney General Daniel Cameron in the Bluegrass State's gubernatorial contest.

But, in Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves secured a second term in office on Tuesday, defending his seat against an unusually strong challenge from Democrat Brandon Presley, the second cousin of legendary musician Elvis Presley.

Biberaj's office recommended that a male transvestite who raped a ninth-grade girl at Stone Bridge High School in 2021 be released with an ankle monitor and enrolled in a different school. Upon his release, the rapist is said to have sexually assaulted another child in a classroom.

After an apparent cover-up by the school, the first victim's father, Scott Smith, went to a school board meeting on June 22, 2021, seeking answers. After daring to raise his voice, Smith was tackled by police, detained, then convicted of disorderly convict.

Biberaj reportedly intended to prosecute the case and ultimately have Scott jailed but was thrown off in September 2022 for a lack of impartiality by her Republican predecessor turned Circuit Court Judge James Plowman.
