I had looked at some lots of land recently outside the city. They were way cheaper than buying a 1 BR condo/apartment. 5000 square feet of land vs a 1 BR apt.

 I noticed that the first neighbor to come meet you who is super friendly and starts telling you about the other neighbors is always going to be the biggest trouble maker.

 I mostly stay to myself. The other women in this subdivision I live in have been approaching me to introduce themselves and eveyone is really nice.

 The people next door were so excited that I'm the girlfriend lol. The lady said "and you are so pretty too!"

 Mike said they probably had a bet that he was either gay or a serial killer lol

 They are a sweet older couple. We take them baked goods and home made wine. The man gives my man expensive cigars and they also give us cookies and stuff. Its fun.

 Better than an apartment and the wacko dramas that go down in an apartment building.

What I meant is Singaporans must work hard Shen Li Shen. I'd wager much harder than here.

Example of another work culture is the United States.

The saying goes 'The business of America is business'.

As a rule Americans work a lot harder and more hours than Canadians.

At least that's what I saw or experienced.

Canadians work long hours. They can't get ahead though. In too many cases they can't even make ends meet.

I feel sorry for Canadians who aren't born into wealth. They will have low living standards.

Most professional Singaporeans I know work 8-5 with an hour for lunch like I do when I work from the office. Contrast that with Canada, where people go home for a couple of hours and go to a second job and then give up their weekends working. All just to keep a crappy roof over their heads and food on the table.

I don't mind long hours, but I want to move ahead because of it. Canadians can't do that. All they do is work to exist.

 My oldest daughter and her girlfriend wanted to rent an apartment but they are so expensive right now. Just a decent one bedroom is 1200 to 1500 per month. It's insane.

 They could afford it but they would NOT be able to save any money at all.

Every successive home should get taxed accordingly so that by they time it's the 10th home it's 90% tax or more.

I think Land Hoarding is the primary reason rents are so high.

I did not think it was as bad in the US as it is in Canada. Canadians have effectively not had a pay increase since Trudeau became pm. He has deliberately caused inflation through taxes, unsustainable immigration levels, regulatory burdens, and discouraging investment.

The province of Alberta has the highest wages in Canada. But, it is middle of the pack when compared to the fifty states. Most Canadian provinces are near the bottom when stacked up against the fifty states.

Our property taxes have went up this year over seven percent..

I'm told that two bedroom apartments in buildings average about $1800 per month, gasoline is nearly one dollar fifty per litre, one dozen eggs are $5.99, and four litres of milk are over seven dollars..

All these high prices on an average annual salary of about fifty thousand Canadian dollars in my city..

Costs are even higher in other Canadian cities.
