DOGE has been great.  I hope the corruption and weaponization of government gets exposed plus I want more transparency.

Trump signed an Executive Order to end the procurement and forced use of paper straws.

The Federal government is directed to stop purchasing paper straws and ensure they are no longer provided within Federal buildings.
The Order requires the development of a National Strategy to End the Use of Paper Straws within 45 days to alleviate the forced use of paper straws nationwide.

Cities and states across America have banned plastic straws, caving to pressure from woke activists who prioritize symbolism over science.
Paper straws use chemicals that may carry risks to human health – including "forever chemical" PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) which are known to be highly water soluble and can bleed from the straw into a drink.
A study found that while PFAS were found in paper straws, no measurable PFAS were found in plastic straws.
Paper straws are more expensive than plastic straws, and often force users to use multiple straws.
Paper straws are not the eco-friendly alternative they claim to be – studies have shown that producing paper straws can have a larger carbon footprint and require more water than plastic straws.
Paper straws often come individually wrapped in plastic, undermining the environmental argument for their use.

Transparency should be automatic.

Trump plans to create a sovereign wealth fund.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick would be appointed to spearhead the effort for the fund, aimed at acquiring TikTok and possibly shares in other larger companies, such as vaccine manufacturers.

"If we are going to buy two billion COVID vaccines, maybe we should have some warrants and some equity in these companies," Lutnick said.

Bessent, speaking alongside Trump from the Oval Office on Monday, said the fund was an issue of "great strategic importance."

The USPS like Canada Post is not designed for 2025.

United States Postal Service workers stormed the streets of Washington, D.C, on Monday, protesting President Donald Trump's push to make the mail agency profitable instead of a billion-dollar taxpayer drain.

Last week, the Washington Post reported that Trump plans to axe USPS' leadership and bring the independent government agency under the control of the Commerce Department.

The USPS has burdened American taxpayers with billions in annual losses, including $9.5 billion in fiscal year 2024. Further, despite a $107 billion congressional bailout two years ago, financial records show the agency's liabilities nearing $80 billion.

The National Association of Letter Carriers organized a rally on Monday to protest the reports — rejected by the administration that Trump is drafting an executive order to shake up the USPS.

The postal service should be privatized. There will a lot of job losses, and the union will scream bloody murder. But it is not 1980 anymore. They have to adapt.

This decision was long overdue.

Donald Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order directing the departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services to make healthcare prices transparent.

The order directs the departments to "rapidly implement and enforce" the Trump healthcare price transparency regulations, which he claims were slowed by the Biden administration.

The departments will ensure hospitals and insurers disclose actual prices, not estimates, and take action to make prices comparable across hospitals and insurers, including prescription drug prices.

In addition, they will be required to update their enforcement policies to ensure hospitals and insurers are in compliance with requirements to make prices transparent.

"When healthcare prices are hidden, large corporate entities like hospitals and insurance companies benefit at the expense of American patients," the White House wrote in a statement. "Price transparency will lower healthcare prices and help patients and employers get the best deal on healthcare."

Continuing on Trump EO on healthcare price transparency.

The executive order notes a number of concerns with current healthcare pricing, including that prices vary between hospitals in the same region.

"One patient in Wisconsin saved $1,095 by shopping for two tests between two hospitals located within 30 minutes of one another," according to the statement.

The White House claims one economic analysis found Trump's original price transparency rules, if fully implemented, could deliver savings of $80 billion for consumers, employers and insurers by 2025.

It added that employers will lower their healthcare costs by an average of 27% on 500 common services by better shopping for care.

The White House said American patients are "fed up with the status quo," with 95% saying healthcare price transparency is an important priority. More than 50% said it should be a top priority of the government.

In his first term, Trump took historic action by mandating that hospitals and insurers make prices public.

A lawsuit was filed against the Biden administration in 2023, alleging it did not enforce the prescription drug transparency requirements.

"While the prior Administration failed to prioritize further implementation and enforcement of these requirements, President Trump is delivering on his promises to make the healthcare system more affordable and easier to navigate for patients," according to the statement.

Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement made over 100 arrests in the controversial Texas development Colony Ridge earlier this week in a massive raid that a Trump official claims is only "phase one" of a larger operation.

On Monday, ICE arrested 118 individuals in the Colony Ridge area, a sprawling 33,000-acre development about a half-hour north of Houston. Some of those arrested already had outstanding warrants. Others were detained during traffic stops.
