I don't know much about this band. Stumbled across this song several minutes ago. They were formed 1989 in Raleigh, NC and had a #1 hit with this number in 1993. I  gotta say I like 'em. I like 'em a lot:

The Stone Temple Pilots were formed in 1989 and the original band remained intact until lead vocalist Scott Weiland was fired in 2013 due to his persistent substance abuse problems. During the 90s, however, they sold a shitload o' records. This song went to #1 in 1994:

Yes, he was. But he was evidently unable to ever get his Jones under control. Velvet Revolver fired him in 2008, due to his Jones which ultimately killed him.
