 I didnt intend to be insulting to Filipinos. Ive met several amd found them lovely. I was more referencing a lot of the country lives in poverty and the women are either being exploting OR exploiting lonely western men.

 I know very little about China. I know about the one child law. I know enough about the "great leap forward".  I know about the dog meat festival and i know a few people who have gone to China for the purpose of missionary work.

 And i was told of orphanages that had a room full of babies, none of which were crying because they knew no one was coming. And it broke my heart.

 I tend to view China as a souless place based on how almost everything i have learned about it is horrific.

 I put effort into avoiding purchasing things made in China because i want to avoid contributing to slave labor. Its very hard to avoid products made there.

 I cant understand why there hasnt been major uprisings. I remember right before covid Hong Kong was fighting for freedom. Then covid hit and i didnt see anymore news about that.

That may have been the way it was 30-40 years ago when the World was less connected financially and electronically. Back then people had to move away, pack up and uproot themselves to another country entirely.

But now...there's all these investor's visas, gold visas, dual citizenship, digital nomad arrangements that the host countries offer so many options to would be expats. They've made workplace mobility a reality. People can live 6 months here, 6 months there. Get a 1 year work visa, a five year one, whatever.

As I said before, I would seek out 2nd passport from another 1st world nation and treat the whole exercise as an additive as opposed to a subtractive one. Other words kill 2 birds with one stone. Why give up your citizenship, when you could get a passport of equal or perhaps superior value?

But that's just me. That's how I'd approach it. Get more not less.

 Well like i said, its a hard thing to understand if you are not American.

 Even if i would be better off finacailly in another country, id still stay.  I was born here and i will die here.

 I dont think the rest of the world hates Americans nearly as much as the left claims they do.

Like I said Shen Li Shen, if I moved somewhere else it'd be a few months somewhere else. But not 12 mos of the year. Unlike yourself I'm not that unhappy that I'd wanna leave entirely.

And I'd never move to Singapore is it's too fuckin hot for tastes. Isn't it like 90 F or 30 C much of the year? Like no thanks. Even Vancouver is unbearable these days and it's only 25 C or about 80.
