Quote from: "cc"True, but they are seeing problems in Japan and others

Japan went the opposite route as Singapore. Singapore used technology, masks in public and temperature taking, but they could not close their borders. Japan closed it's borders, but did not carry out the successful measures that Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore did.

Japan wasn't as proactive as some other countries in the region.

Vietnam, although a developing nation has done well controlling the spread.

Vietnam does not have the capacity to undertake a South Korea-style fight against coronavirus, which has so far involved carrying out 350,000 tests. The country's medical system is also limited. Nguyen Thanh Phong, the mayor of Ho Chi Minh City, a metropolis of 8 million people, said that the city's hospitals have a total of 900 intensive care beds. An epidemic in the city would easily overwhelm this capacity.

To take the fight to coronavirus, Vietnam instituted rigorous quarantine policies, and carried out complete tracing of all people who came in contact with the virus. These measures were implemented much earlier in the course of the epidemic than in China, where lockdowns of entire cities were used as a last resort to keep the virus from spreading further.

For example, on February 12, Vietnam put an entire town of 10,000 near Hanoi under quarantine for three weeks. At this time, there were only 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the entire country. Authorities also widely and meticulously documented anyone who potentially came in contact with the virus.

Western countries like Germany only documented those infected and their direct contacts. Vietnam also kept track of second, third and fourth levels of contact to infected persons. All of these people were then placed under successively stringent levels of movement and contact restrictions.

Impressive .. .They are not fooling around

Seems their lack of medical facilities supplies great incentive to stop it cold in its tracks

I like Vietnam. An up and coming country. Public officials are corrupt as all hell. That is to be expected in a country without the rule of law.

Blazor

All of these deaths will be made up, with everyone at home causing the next Baby Boom lol. Those kids will be the Coronials lol. OR, with all of the Coronial abortions, that death toll may become higher than the virus itself, and would still have more babies born than folks dying.
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Our rates are very very low but very soon a whole bunch of supposed "Australian Citizens" are flying in from India within a day or two. I bet everyone is virus infested. They're all going to be quarantined on Rottnest Island. I hope the Quokkas don't catch the virus from the humans.

This is the "Top Doctor" who:

- Called us racists for pointing out the Chinese Virus came from China.

- Mouthed Communist China's disinformation campaign provided to the WHO, and "assured" us there was nothing to worry about the Chinese disease .

- Said we could trust the transparency of the Lying Communist Chinese regime and we should not offend them by closing the border.

- Warned us we must listen to her fellow quack 5th Columnists at the WHO or be held to account by the decrepit UN.

- Said masks were no help .... till they were.

They're still telling us children don't catch it and if they do it's not even noticeable which is complete bunkum.

I am worried about the vaccine concerns. I once heard the news say, (back in the beginning of this outbreak) that Sars 2 is a variant of Sars 1 and they never did get a vaccine for Sars 1.

Airborne coronavirus detected in Wuhan hospitals

Adding to growing evidence that the novel coronavirus can spread through air, scientists have identified genetic markers of the virus in airborne droplets, many with diameters smaller than one-ten-thousandth of an inch.

That had been previously demonstrated in laboratory experiments, but now Chinese scientists studying real-world conditions report that they captured tiny droplets containing the genetic markers of the virus from the air in two hospitals in Wuhan, China, where the outbreak started.

Their findings were published Monday in the journal Nature.

It remains unknown if the virus in the samples they collected was infectious, but droplets that small, which are expelled by breathing and talking, can remain aloft and be inhaled by others.

Remember back in February when our public health officials told us that wearing masks could do more harm than good?

I knew they were either lying or wrong.
