It looked like a good idea to me at the moment, but then I imagined cerfain small aspects of sushi would become a lot more noticeable, like wasabi and soy sauce ratio to rice, and like RW mentioned, chewy nori.

I looked up a place in town that sells them for under $10, $5 if you get there before 2 PM. I'm cringing at the alleged quality of their raw fish after reading that.

Quote from: "RW"How about Japadog? It's very popular too btw.

Has anyone in Vancouver tried one?  asal?

It's a good idea in concept, but one or two ingredients on each of them is offputting enough to make me not want to try any of them (I'm finicky  :negative:  )

You might have heard of Chicago style hot dogs. Some people think they're amazing.

Quote from: "GrAnnie"Do you think the owner actually goes home later and cleans everything? Realistic, no. I agree Renee Food trucks are not the place to eat  :beurk:

They have the same rules as any restaurant and are inspected the same as any restaurant.

You bet your KFC lovin' ass they are.

I used to do large event fundraisers on golf courses and even to get a vendor to serve hot dogs (even though they are pre-cooked) required a permit and the health inspector would come out in the morning to check everything was properly set up before we started.  They don't mess around.

You can actually review Japadog on that site if you want to see how their carts are doing in terms of meeting requirements.

Fat Frank's carts in Churchill Square are inspected to sell dogs and cans of pop. Who would have thunk it.

I didn't they were also subjected to inspection. Well that raises my trust for their food a little bit more.

I did not know that either. It was one of the reasons I limited my purchases from them to a bottle of water.

RW

All cities do health inspections and I believe their inspections are all public record.  Look up your favourites and see how they fair :)

Any place that serves food should be.
